Being blessed is a mindset. Not all people would see life on the farm or life in business world as being blessed. So note its a choice to see the blessedness.

Hey Kayla, Kinda worried about Y'all with Ida heading that way. Been watching the track and Looks like it might turn before it gets to you. Fingers crossed. I never knew Black Buzzards would attack a Calf. We have then here in Florida, But always see them eating road kill. And with all the Horse Farms around here, I have never heard any of them talk about it. Now Coyotes and big Cats yeah, Never Black Buzzards. I learned something new today, Thanks. I really enjoyed your video, Thanks for sharing.

I’m ready for some cooler weather & rain would be a very nice bonus! But am not wanting any storms! Thankfully we haven’t had coyote or cat issues - we try to keep a very mindful eye! Even though the cows are roughly 3 miles from the homestead. Thanks for watching & taggin along

Thank for the warning. This old mister softy just can't watch things like that no more without it just breaking my heart. The older I get the more tender this old heart gets. I can't even watch them harvest chickens any more. When I asked Jesus to give me a loving heart toward others. Over time Jesus showed me how to love others in the special way that HE love me as one of HIS worsted kids. I can now see that it didn't matter what a no good drunken hard ass I pretended to be. Jesus still loved me and HE made it clear to me the day Jesus set me free from all my addictions that nearly ended my life at 49 years of age. I'll haush now... Great video thanks for sharing. Be blessed in Jesus name... BBE..

It was sad to see that the calf you pulled didn't make it, but unfortunately that is a part of the calving business, once in a while a calf is just too big for a first time mama and you lose it. I totally agree with you, in fact the majority of cattle farmers here I know would agree with you on having first-calf heifers bred to a lower weight calving bull. Great job and great video as always!!! Hope you don't lose any more than the 2 you already have lost.

Why can y'all not get to the field after the crops come off the other farmers the one that's landmark also what did you say dee RSA program was or whatever it is for first time farmers ty
@ChroniclesofKayla3 жыл бұрын
If we waited another month or more to get the hay off we’ll be in the mist of 4th cut alfalfa, second cutting grass plus silage chopping .... yes we could of waited but then it would throw us off in other fields. NRCS - It’s for first time farmers - talk with your local USDA offices to learn more.

Not supposed to be anyway ...: we just keep documenting and letting our local offices know if the issue. It’s a serious issue - - they are predators in the sky. They do not care. They’ll tAke down newborns to 400# weaned off calves ... it’s one of the main concerns for me to move calving season - - the black vultures are only in MO during the fall season. Red headed ones do not mess with live animals. So not an issue for us. They are the “clean” up crew

@@ChroniclesofKayla In Maine if a bear gets in and kills cattle or stock the farmer can kill the bear. Then they let fish and game know they shot the bear and they will come pick up the bear. The thing is with these birds the more they breed the more there will be and the more calves you are gonna lose. If the state has to start paying the going rate for these cattle they will do something about the birds.

@@ChroniclesofKayla need to tell them they are too far north... I guess the way baby calves lay still it would bring them in and being more aggressive...I know what I would do and it definitely wouldn't be filmed or mentioned. Used to do the play dead game with buzzards when I was a kid...good times. If you don't like August calving I'd suggest back them off to late September early October. February/March has its own fun... getting docked $.20 a pound for frozen ears always made me happy... didn't know anyone ate ears. Six months is a long time to back off a herd...
