now THIS is the kind of UE5 remake i can fully get behind. this blows away all other UE proof of concept remakes that i've seen in the last 15 or so years that, in my opinion, are consistently overproduced and tacky. this RESPECTS the source material. of course, it helps that the HD-2D template was established for fans to later copy. EXCELLENT work. keep this project going and maybe Square-Enix will realize just how successful this product could be.

@@dcfavorite Cross is a great game, though. The story and themes of consequence and consideration are a nice counterbalance to Trigger's optimism and the combat is serviceable. What it misses on is that the cast is bloated and too many of them are underdeveloped both gameplay and story-wise. It also requires the Chronopolis info-dump at the end to make any kind of sense and then is rushed to its conclusion far too quickly. Soundtrack and art direction for both games are amazing, with Cross having beautifully rendered backdrops. Definition of a flawed masterpiece, imo.

動画のご視聴、コメントありがとうございます。 今時の若い世代の方からすると「懐古厨」に見えるかもしれませんね。思い出補正も実際かなりあるとは思います。 アラサーの私にとっては、ソフトの容量（＝表現力）に制約があった時代の「ドット絵でいかに豊かに世界を表現するか」という開発陣のこだわりにグッときたりするんですよ。都合上デフォルメされている箇所をプレイヤー側で脳内補完するのも楽しかったり。 また私見ですが、ゲームってグラフィックが高画質であればあるほど没入できるかと言うと必ずしもそうではなく（近年のFFシリーズ等で批判を集めている部分です）、すぐれたストーリーやゲーム体験が用意されていれば、グラフィックは「ドット絵」でも「トゥーン調」でも充分にのめり込めるものです。 ただ、結局は人それぞれの好みの問題ですから、「クロノトリガー古くさw」と思われるのももちろん否定しませんよ！ 数ある意見の一つですから。

This reminds me of a 2.5D/3D fan built remake of the game from the early/mid 2000s that looked amazing at the time but got stomped hard into the ground by Square via DMCA takedown notifications. I hope those who were working on that project were given a chance to help work on the project if interested. -- For those curious, no, no assets were ever released outside of screenshots due to their real names being attached to the project, so if the game had been leaked & released legal actions would have fallen back upon them.

Amazing!! Chrono Trigger was a massive influence when I created an RPG with my brother, teacher, and some friends back in high school. It was based on a comic my brother and I created as kids, based on the imaginary friends we created as small children, along with a trip to the planetarium lol. Later movies like Heavy Metal, various anime, and Metal music in general added to the inspiration. The game did not have time travel, but you did travel to different planets which were only 3 at the time. There was also a massive space city and a huge derelict starship which was a dungeon where enemies and bosses got stronger the more you advanced.. We worked so hard to have the game look more like Guilty Gear (PS1).. Currently remaking both.
