One of the best RPGs ever, and I think, the DS version is the best version. They got the anime cutscenes of the PS1 and bringing it on the go is icing on the cake Akira Toriyama master race!

It's certainly worth its weight in dollars (the DS version at the very least). It blows me away that the game opens itself up even further on subsequent playthroughs. Chrono Trigger is a fantastic love child of the industry's all stars!

When you told me in that private message that you had to go back and get some footage, I thought that was a hint about what game you were reviewing. I thought you were referring to Radiant Historia though lol. Anyways, I definitely agree with everything you said, it truly is an outstanding RPG.

I used to have this release of it, just as fantastic as the SNES original, if not better. For one I mean it is cheaper and easier to come by than the SNES version hahaha. Also without the horrendous load times of the PlayStation version, that one is still good though despite that don't get me wrong, used to have that too. Another good review man.

It's great to hear how competent this version is compared to the original. The price point and load times of its predecessors will always be the measuring stick for this one's greatness which is why I tried to shy away from discussing them in the review. In any case, I had a really good time playing and reviewing the game. Thanks for sharing your sentiments!

This convinces me to pickup this game again sometime. Although on this physical version because I always played it on an emulator through the browser.

I'm glad I could convince you to get the physical version! This easily has to be one of the most endearing renditions of Chrono Trigger and it feels right at home on your dual-screened handheld of choice!

Right on Bio. I don't even have a SNES anyway. I can barely afford to save for the DS Version let alone a super nintendo copy! They're obstinsibly the same game anyway.

its pretty broken on my side as well. but other thing i should mention for the DS version there is a new section of the game and it has the anime cutsense from the PS1 version but with no load times at all so its better in every way pretty much

With games like this, it always seems futile to even cover it but I try not to let that stop me from being fun and creative in how I approach them; for instance, take the crosswalk and naming of the frog. I doubt anyone else has mentioned things like that in their reviews. Heck, even in your top RPG combat themes video, you gave this game a well-deserved shoutout. A game that lives up to its high reputation is well deserving of the praise even if it at times seems unnecessary.
