this is a really fun discussion video. and i like hearing these fresh thoughts from a new comer. i love RVD and he is one of the few guys from ECW that transitioned well to WWE after 2001. sadly there was a few ECW legends that were treated poorly when going to WWE. same can be said to a few from WCW

So you like wrestlers for their in ring technique more than their promos I take it. Stone Cole is beloved for 1 simple reason: He's a Rebel, he's anti-establishment, he sticks it to the man and is rather crude, which was kinda the trend in the late 90's early 2000's, it was the era of Edge and Stone Cold was peak edge. In any other era he would have been a heel but he became the biggest babyface because you couldn't control him, in character he was a loose cannon that even the company he worked for couldn't handle, he was dangerous, he was intimidating to everyone around him, the moment the glass breaks and his theme song plays, you know he's about to make an embarrassment of the guy in the ring taking up all the TV time preaching to a bored audience and making them look like idiots, people love that. In the ring, Stone Cold is very much a brawler, I mean he used to do a lot more high flying stuff back in WCW when he was stunning Steve Austin but he adjusted his style to befit his character, his wrestling style is very unsophisticated and unrefined on purpose to match his rebellious gimmick. You don't see him pulling off extravegant moves, you just see him beating the lights out of his opposition with the first thing he can find. That's kinda what you have to expect going into a match with him. He is more a character than a technician. If you want more technical wrestling, you probably will want to watch some of the more modern stuff. I recently watched Forbidden Door and the main event between Swerve Strickland and Will Ospreay was a technical marvel, the standards are so much higher now because they can't get away with the stuff they did in the Attitude era anymore because of people getting easily offended, so they have to make up for it by performing more technical moves. The thing is though, Attitude era is peak because there were no fucks given. Nothing was spared to make things as ridiculous as possible and people had more freedom to swear and talk trash, everything was so much more edgy back then. Nowadays it's less about watching beliggerant people constantly talking shit to each other and having a rampage in the ring (though there's a bit of that, just not on the same level as stone cold's "put an S in front of Hitman and that's what I think of Bret The Hitman Hart") instead you see more character development and relationship angles and psychology is more in depth. The old stuff though is dumb fun, it's just two people having ridiculously heated arguments on cocaine who are just ready to explode in a volitile fury and then the match starts and they tear each other apart. The 80's stuff though was more about the promo's, 80's promos were fantastic, the matches though were very basic compared to more modern matches. Like you'd hear the most insane promos ever, then they get in the ring and it's very simple stuff. Over time though, the matches got a lot more technical than that and nowadays they are very technical, though they lack the edginess of the Atitude era and I think the edge made things more fun personally as you would have so many ridiculous moments that you just wouldn't see today, you never knew what you were going to see next, it was so exciting. Nowadays I find shows are a lot more predictable in how theyy go about them, not always but a lot of the time they kinda are but man in the attitude era there were so many crazy segments it was insane.

Yeah, we did overlap on a bit of subject matter. I think that we've seen enough examples in other areas of life where people don't wake up from their consumer stupor until something outright shocks them out of it. If anyone has been trained to click on the flashiest headline/video consistently and persistently, then you can basically count them as a lost cause until they experience something traumatic and are forced to overhaul their life. I realise that I probably sound extreme, but it's what I see from people. Nihilism has gripped people. It's made it so that they can sit and watch whatever they're fed in their zombie-like state, and it's made it so that events that would normally give people pause are barely enough to steal their attention, thus maintaining that zombie state. Anyhoo, that's probably more than you asked for in the comments. I suppose I took it a step further than gaming, but much of the gaming audience falls in line with the people who I described. Anyone caught up in make-belief console wars or pretending that gaming drama is more important than their own social circle needs to come back to reality.

Haha you might be overexposed to nihilists lately -- reminds me of The Big Lebowski! I wouldn't prescribe that philosophy to the broad swath of people of any group. Sure maybe more younger people are having trouble finding meaning than we are but isn't that just how it is when you're young? The difference to me is that when we were young, our voices weren't so amplified. There is something of a herd mentality but with the concept of "Creator" becoming so much more widespread, I do think people are becoming more educated consumers of media. Another thing I think is understated is how many words people are consuming. With the popularity of smart devices and social media, it's hard to imagine a world where people aren't literate. Not saying it's a net positive but it's something I think gets undermined. I'm out here just chatting too, should make a Twitch or something lolll.

Like I said before, KZbin is like Pro Wrestling. You have your weekly shows which are mostly filler that build up to the PPV where the big matches are on. Even the card on weekly shows have filler matches like the "mid card" where the combatants have to get their matches done quick and are actually punished for doing too many fancy moves/spots because they are taking attention away from the main event so they deliberately tone down their matches to make the main event seem more of a spectacle by comparison. My Games I Got For Free On PC series is exactly the sort of content you're talking about, it's all purely filler content that I do because it's easy to do. Some of the videos are better than others though, some are just really boring, not gonna lie. I'm not always 100% either but whenever there is something good, I can make a short out of it so it's not so bad. Also like I said before in my truth about youtube video "One man's trash is another man's treasure" so by exploring other methods that you put less effort in, you could find some unexpected success from it.

I feel with KZbin for me, a lot of it was trying to prove to myself that I could do it. Did I make a huge success from it? No but do I feel like I have proven myself to be able to make quality content? Absolutely. But yeah everything is about marketing and manipulating now. It's so annoying. This goes beyond KZbin, this is everything. There's a reason why I made a wrestling universe mode with KZbin Content Creators in it because KZbin is literally pro wrestling without the wrestling, every video is a promo, drama everywhere, loads of crazy bullshit to hook people. The problem is, KZbin is real and people tend to forget that the person talking in the video is a human being. Though I think most people simply don't care. Problem is that making videos for KZbin is the only way to get your foot in the door. From a business standpoint, you're thinking backwards. Drawing people in with clickbait first is essential, they you do the videos for you after... That's the theory at least, what I will say though is that making videos for you, while it can make you happy, it will be a constant struggle to grow. So you kinda need to find a balance really. Unless you're like me and have given up trying, in which case, welcome to the KZbin Underground, don't work yourself too hard because you aren't getting paid and nobody is going to care anyway. The latter is my approach to KZbin now, just fannying about to give myself an excuse to play videogames I wouldn't normally play. It's come to the point that KZbin had become the main hub of my gaming life, I game specifically for KZbin, they are bound together now.

@@Majora_T There is no middle ground. You either choose 1 way or the other. You play the KZbin game and get an income from it or you don't and get no financial gain from your work. It really is that simple. Even if you did manage to get monetized on your channel, KZbin will make it difficult for you to get a payout as you'd have to meet a threshold and could terminate your monetization at any time if you're underperforming, so you have to go all in or not bother at all. It enables you to see through a lot of it and focus on why you enjoyed KZbin to begin with. Great video. I love you just playing a game while discussing what is on your mind. Someone once asked me if I was into mechs, and my response was “no, not really” But after thinking about it for a while, I am absolutely obsessed with them! I think I immediately put “mechs” into the anime category without taking into account video games, and after the realization that I essentially started my steam account because of mech games, is what hit me like a ton of bricks to the face. Plus I think it’s the one thing I’m always checking to see if any new action mech games have been announced (I don’t do turn based anything anymore) There’s this one game called Armored cavalry operation valkyrie (spelled as varkiri on steam, so hardly anyone knows about it) and although it’s damn near impossible, it’s a lot of fun!

2D fighters especially are the worst for me but yeah I suck at fighting games too. Low effort seems to be the way to go on KZbin now. Why bother putting in any work when it doesn't get reciprocated? My channel is taking a similar direction now, moreorless given up on trying to stick to a format/formula to try and get views, not only does that make me more exhausted but I just want to upload trash content because I feel like it. I think you in particular will enjoy the changes I'm making to my channel but I know that some people won't. Playing the KZbin Game just isn't fun, there's no joy in trying to force yourself to do things a certain way or follow a formula that you don't want to follow. I think KZbin is more fun when you're being more spontaneous with your content and less focused on trying to stick to a formula. I think there's some value in having discourse over just playing videogames, that's what I ddi with Ridge Racer 5 and I realized "hang on, I can cut this into 3 separate videos and hone in on the topics. In an ideal world, I'd say that I only collect the games I'm really passionate about but the thing is, I still own a lot of garbage in my physical collection but it's too much of a hassle to sell them.

Samsho is awesome!! Lately I've started to grow out of watching highly edited and scripted videos, they aren't bad but I think nowadays I just prefer almost that same style that you refer to where it's much less edited and more about the person. Because that's what I came here for in the first place, the people just being themselves. Sometimes it feels like highly edited content feel like it's made for people who just want to get to the point rather than be at the moment or you have the opposite which is long edited videos feel like they take too much time to get to the point. It's all in the balance! With regards to collecting in just out, once in couple of years I'm getting something but not much, I tend to emulate more and playing that, most games I beat through emulation I don't go back to but my most favorites I do want to replay so I'm writing it down in a list of games I'd like to get in the future.

I play Air Raider by myself. Only thing about him is he needs to know the mission phases well and plan accordingly. You don't want to be unprepared for a wave and have a vital vehicle or air support still on cool down. If you can master that he's really fun. Btw just wanted to add that it's important to keep your teammates alive and healthy. Most people dont care whether they live or die, but if they die, the enemy has nobody else to aggro on except for you, which is a big problem. I always pick up health to heal them and switch to my primary weapon when they are too close for explosives. Sometimes you might want to kill their team leaders and take charge of the team, because sometimes they're better off with you than with them. When faced with aerial enemies, hide in any little gap you can find, between buildings, in stairwells, etc.
