I remember going to a video game convention in 1995 at the Pasadena Convention Center shortly after this game was released. I found out about the convention from flyers that were at a local video game store. Admission as I remember was a little expensive but it advertised 50 dealers with new and used games plus merchandise. Every dealer had Chrono Trigger material and I have regretted I didn't buy some of what they had for sale. The dealers also had merchandise from many SNES games including items from Japan. I bought a box with trading card packs from Final Fantasy 5, which is my favorite game. Dealers also had trading cards from Japan for Chrono Trigger. I just wish I had bought some because I have never sent those cards again since- not even on eBay and I have searched. Dealers also had promotional posters for Chrono Trigger from Japan for $5. Looking back I should have bought 20 of those posters. There was also a set of Chrono Trigger figures made in Japan for sale but I didn't buy them either. I did buy a set of Super Mario World figures made in Japan and I still have those. Unfortunately there was only that one convention. I got a flyer for the next convention but it was cancelled because Nintendo stopped the show because a lot of the dealers were selling unauthorized merchandise like the Super Wild Card floppy disc game copier. This devise attached to the top of the Super Nintendo and allowed you to copy and play SNES games from floppy discs. I remember other convention attendees telling me that Nintendo will shut this thing down fast if they find out those pirate machines are being sold here. Dealers were also selling floppy discs of SNES games for $2 that could be played in the Super Wild Card device. Gamers liked the machine because they could Boy Chrono Trigger for $2 and play it instead of paying $69 for the game. I still wish I had bought those Chrono Trigger posters at that convention.

Im playing the mobile version and I think its pretty good, the graphics/sound were improved, the interface is cleaner, the screen size is bigger, and there are some anime cutscenes that were added too. The only problem is little bugs: some dialogues are cut randomly and the joystick often gets "stuck". But in overall thats a really good version and the best to play on mobile devices (Since the little bugs are easily solvables)

I think there's just one side-quest you forgot at 2:10:33. The form of Spekkio you were fighting was Kilwala, which is the second form that you're able to fight from level 10 - 19. However, the first form, Croaker, can only be fought at level 1 - 10. I'm not using my actual computer right now so I'm not sure if there's an annotation that describes that but I thought I'd make a statement there just in case.

Oh yeah. I did that. I figured it out. Apparently on the ROM, it's a glitch where you have to re-configure the L and R buttons to different keys and it works.

With the first stage of masa and mune you can let lucca cast hypno wave and then attack one a time so one stays asleep. Then they don't do that counterattack the whole time.

Does anyone watching this video have the Chrono Trigger Deluxe Strategy guide from 1995? This is not the Chrono Trigger Nintendo Players guide. There was a guide produced by a 3rd party manufacturer and the guide was not authorized by Nintendo. It was only sold at small video game stores for a very short time and not available at Captron World of Nintendo stores. I found out about the deluxe guide from a friend but when I went to the game store where the guide was sold the owner said it was sold out and when I called back later the owner said he never got any more of the guides. They were out of stock from his supplier.The deluxe guide was 500 pages with original artwork plus detailed explanations of every weapon, helmet, armor and item in the game with detailed maps plus a complete walkthrough and was a very limited edition. I have searched on eBay and amazon for years and everywhere else trying to find this guide and I can't find it.

Has anyone else gotten a Nu to appear in a battle in the cursed woods along with the regular frog enemies? I have. One time a Nu appeared and joined the battle. The Nu was very strong and had an attack that reduces party members to 1 life point. I did defeat him though along with the other enemies. Is there any significance to the Nu appearing in the cursed woods as an enemy? This only happened once in all the times that I have played the game.

I had to chuckle a bit. When Jeremy and his brother were just kids the original Mario Brothers came out. They played for hours. I tried for about 5 minutes then gave up. I know I didn't bother getting all the little prizes in that game at the fair (like those musical dolls, or the extra cats). I also didn't get the stone you need to catch from that ninja enemy. So while it's not 100%, it's pretty darn close. I do all the side quests though. Pretty sure I do....

It's been long since I played, so I don't remember all of the sound effects, but they seem a bit different... are you playing using an emulator? Or directly connected to the console? I've played a lot on an old emulator which distorted the sounds, so I can't remember what the effects (e.g. battle sounds) are supposed to sound like.

How do you get Super Gato to appear at the Millenial Fair so you can fight him and get that fantastic item for defeating him? At the fair you fight Luccs's robot Gato for silver points. After you defeat him he gives you 15 silver points and asks you "Now wasn't that fun?" There is supposed to be a way to get him to follow that with a yes or no answer. If you answer no then Gato replies then you can fight my big brother and another robot comes out of the tent in the upper right hand corner. This Super Gato has a ton of hit points and you don't have the ability to beat him at this point in the game. But he says beat me and I will give you the warp ring. This ring allows you to warp to different areas of the game and access a secret area not in the usual game. To get Gato to give you the yes or no answer after you defeat him you have to speak to the guy just before you come into his area, the guy who mentions you can fight Lucca's robot for silver points, speak to him 16 times then go to the guy who exchanges 50 gold for 10 silver points and do that exchange 16 times. So make sure you have the max 200 silver points because after you do the silver exchange 16 times you have 40 silver points left. Take the 40 silver points and go to tent of horrors and bet your 40 silver points on the mimicking game. You have to do it perfect then instead of getting a clone for a reward the guy says fight Gato. Go back and fight Gato and when you defeat him he gives you the yes or no selection after he asks you if you had fun. I have done all this but Gato gives you no yes or no answer. All this was in a Japanese Video game magazine when Chrono Trigger was released there. Maybe it only works on the Super Famicom version. But the magazine mentions there is a time limit on doing all this. and maybe I have not been able to do it all fast enough. Then there is the problem of beating Super Gato. If it is impossible because of the low level you are at in that point of the game then use PAR code to go up enough levels so you can beat Super Gato.

After you get the Sun Stone you automatically go to Lucca's house where she puts the Sun Stone in a machine and makes the Wonder Shot out of it. However, the Sun Stone is still in your item inventory after she uses it to make the Wonder Shot. If you check it there is Sun Stone 1. Since you still have the Sun Stone you are supposed to be able to do something else with it. Another gamer told me you can then take the Sun Stone to Melchior and he makes a weapon out of it. Has anyone been able to actually do this? I bring the Sun Stone to Melchior and nothing happens. There is someone that you are supposed to talk to before you go to Melchior who tells you to take the Sun Stone to Melchior and he will make a weapon out of it for you. I talked to the old man at the End of Time because I thought it might be him but it wasn't him.

I don't remember anything from the game sucking and even after finishing Chrono trigger I still think Chrono Cross being the better of the two. Well it comes to the game play Chrono Cross was more strategic while Chrono Trigger felt like press a to win. I think Chrono Trigger has a better story and soundtrack and is graphically impressive considering it was on the SNES though that still doesn't change the fact that Chrono Cross is still the better game.

I might download this game on the Wii VC it looks good. EDIT: Damn, I realized that I can't add points on the Wii shop Channel as of March 2018. I really wanted to try this game and Final Fantasy IV. *sigh* I have no clue on how to hack more SNES games on the SNES mini since I'm not a computer geek and if I were to do something wrong, I could brick my SNES mini. How come Nintendo won't let us download more games into it? 21 games isn't enough probably 28 games is enough?

Why Squaresoft had to make Chrono a "silent protagonist?" It works in some Nintendo games, but for Squaresoft games, no IMO.

U can also get it on DS version ( which in my honest opinion the best version of the game ) & play it on the DS or 3DS system.

Oh hey buddy. Yeah get the DS version. Has better translation. Also Wii Shop closing at the end of this month so download everything you need like demos or games you deleted and want to redownload.

Ever get your SNES modded? It's easier than you might think. You'd have to try really really hard to brick it. Im not computer savvy but I did and redid mine 4ish times. If I can do it, so can you.
