Build quality is good, high shock tolerance and the best chronograph legibility on the center minute chronograph. Modern center minute chronograph manufacturers are Agenhor, A Lange and Breguet - Marine series, which cost USD20k at least, but Lemania cal. 5100 & 5012 are somewhere USD2k to USD5k)

I do like the white dial Speedmaster professional, probably the next on my list to get. Also I think everyone has pretty much given up on going to Rolex to buy a watch, knowing that you have to effectively beg a sales rep to get one. That’s not a luxury experience, it’s cronyism, so I’m glad you don’t cover the whole Rolex retail fiasco in your conversations.

The Omega DeVille Chronoscope is definitely one of the most underrated chronographs. It uses a Frederic Piguet 1185 movement with a 3 level co axial escapement. They can regularly be picked up around 2500 euro!

Swing and a miss on the best rose gold watch. Vacheron Constantin Overseas in rose gold with green dial. Three different models, but head and shoulders above any other rose gold offering.

The best watch of 2024, in my opinion, is the Lederer Triple Observatory Chronometer. Its truely a marvel of engineering. It got a avarage of +0.5 seconds a day in 5 positions across all tests!
