Yep. I believe he's there to turn Melinoe into the "Agent of Change" he foresaw she can become, probably because she will improve the world once she's completed her character arc. He hates the gods, but I don't think he cares about Zeus or Chronos at all in this war. I love that no one knows his true motivations. He's the ultimate trickster from Greek Mythology, after all, their Loki.

Worst case scenario, the man is merely stretching his legs. Just look at it from his perspective. Chronos or Olympus, what does he care, as long as he is chained up? He can't do anything either way. Then Chronos comes along, and offers him freedom for servitude. Refusing him means that, regardless of who wins, Prometheus will continue to stay locked up. If Chronos wins and Prometheus is on his side, all is good. Freedom, golden age for humans, yadda yadda, Prometheus gets to get even and maybe take care of humans again. If Chronos loses and Prometheus is on his side.... well, it's not like the gods can do *that* much worse to him, then they already did. So this is a welcome break. And who knows? If Chronos is doomed to lose, and Prometheus is there to backstab him in a crucial moment... he might actually get off lightly.

@xan1m440 there's more to it than just his freedom though. Keep in mind when you first beat Prometheus, he says he's not fighting for his own sake; meaning that despite what he says about wanting to have loyalty to his brethren, Prometheus isn't doing this just because of vengeance or freedom. Not to mention, he sees the future and yet he refuses to tell it to Chronos. He knows something about the outcome of the war and him fighting for Chronos may mean he has a hidden agenda. Combining that with the fact that he calls Mel "Agent of Change" implies that Mel has something to do with this outcome.

Honestly, it's kinda makes hating Chronos difficult, like yeah, he's an asshole to other gods, the problem is, under his rule humanity prospered like crazy, meanwhile the gods do all kinds of shit to mortals for lulz(Poseidon). Like gods are cool and funny characters but they are that to EACH OTHER.

I'd personally like to see them do a spin on Epinetheus's ability, like how Prometheus's foresight became the ability to see possible outcomes, and have his hindsight become the ability to see people's pasts and memories. So you have a hothead who gets these sudden moments of insight into others.

he is the maker of mankind, set the precedent on the sacrifices being Fat and bones (meat is for humans to keep) gave man his ability to think and with fire and some blueprints the makings of society. he was the one divine being that looked out for humanity the most. there's also the prophecy about the family tradition, that Zeus' reign would be ended by his son. and only prometheus could figure out which one, and he wasn't gonna tell.

My guess? It was Chronos' own meddling with forces that seemingly made Prometheus' foresight less reliable, allowing the player to best him. Fate and future events were previously more or less set in stone due to the weavings of the Fates. But now that Chronos has taken them prisoner, fate and the overall future, as well as the outcomes of all major events and decisions, are left up to random chance and overall free will, making it so the future is now always in motion with no guarantees.

Adding to that, but his pre-fight dialogue also says that he sees so many potential futures at any given time that he can't possibly account for them all in the heat of battle.

Although, considering the Fates' weavings, who is to say how far ahead they planned ahead? They already did one such thing in having Moros retrieve the Fated List while the House of Hades was otherwise unguarded. It's more than likely they knew that Chronos was going to take them prisoner and made plans for that eventuality. I feel as though it's already a 'Check' against Chronos and he doesn't fully realize it at the moment.

"Agent of Change" is not a demeaning title or a title boasting about his power over her, it's a recognizing her place in all this. He sees something, something that he doesn't want Chronous to know. It says to me Prometheus is still loyal to the Gods, or at least loyal to what is best for mortals. I wonder if the section after him gives us more implications about his intentions.

There’s still Chronos’ other brothers, like Iapetus, Crius, Hyperion, Oceanus and Coeus. If I had to take a guess, maybe Hyperion? He’s Selene’s father, and she’s in the game, so I wouldn’t think it to be out of the question.

I imagine Prometheus' vision will be the same as the Fates which we haven't heard yet; that being that both Gods and Titans will lose this conflict, and humanity will rise and prosper after and they'll all have to resign themselves to living in obscurity. But that doesn't happen until Olympus' defenses are depleted, and Time still has strength to fight.

This introduces a certain moral ambiguity to the contest. Prometheus wants revenge, for the asshole way he was treated. Chained to a rock and having an eagle eat your liver each day is horrible to the nth degree. And Zeus and the others were evil dicks for doing it. And Prometheus' "crime" was helping mortals. But at the same time I suspect Prometheus as an agenda outside of Chronos'. I note that Prometheus seems to have the eagle who ate his liver with him. This is interesting and it makes me wonder did Chronos actually free Prometheus in exchange for his servitude or did something else happen? Just how did Prometheus get the eagle who ate his livre to become a companion it seems?
