CHRONY TEST WITH THERABAND TUBES AND FLATBANDS - CATAPULT / SLINGSHOT SHOOTING

After 4-1/2 months in hospitals, I was.too weak to even sit up, so the pt's there gave me some blue and green bands to exersize with - about 4" x 3' or so. I'm gonna make the green ones into a 4- band, tapered sling first and try that.

I just use the Barnet strike 9 slingshot with kids small glass marbles as ammo for hunting rabbits to eat. I've tried flat band slingshot with various therabands and I just don't like them. As you often say " it's all about accuracy".

I 100% prefer tubes myself, using flat bands I basically need to use a whole exercise band and quadruple layer them…and I find they break faster…sucks Edit: spelling

Quick question john, in one video you talk about draw length and anchor points, but when you do a chronograph test you draw the band's as far as possible, why is that? And what type speeds do you achieve at your normal draw length?

Like the video, I know what bans to get for plinking now, but do you have any clue on what size ammunition I should use ( preferably steel ball bearings) with the bands I have which are doubled up theraband gold with a length of 25cm and width of 2cm all the way along. Haven't got round to tapering them yet. But if you could respond it would be awesome as you have the knowledge of killing animals(pigeons). - A polo-shirt wearer

Good videos - whats the UK law on catapults? Its 12ftlbs power for air rifles without a FAC and I assume these catapults would punch out quite a bit more than that!?

Under law a catapult is classed as a toy. Unless you say self defence. As that breeches sec 139

the best ammo you can get is at the local scrap yard ball bearings from car wheels BOOM watch your fingers though ;)

What about mixing colors of bands? If two tbg are to much for the shooter, what about 1 tbg doubled with blue, for example? instead of twice as tight, you get 1.5 times as tight?

You'd be better off going full black theraband imo. I don't think it would help to mix up elastic on the same band set as they do not retract at the same speed.

the uk do have laws for bows, you arent allowed to hunt with them, or crossbows, catapults are a grey area, they arent specified in any legislation

Sorry to say but this is no real test, as you have not set the chronograph for each weight of ammo i.e. the 12mm lead weighs more than the 9.5mm steel so unless the chronograph is set for each weight then the feet per second cannot count.

Yeah, but only for what he does really. He goes for big destruction in his vids and uses big, heavy ammo. If you are just plinking then you don't need the power of Theraband gold.

Yes it does. The feet per second is measured when the ball passes through the first fork bit, starting a timer, which is ended when it passes through the second fork bit. It then calculates its over all speed from the time it took to trip both lasers, starting and stopping the timer

I saw ur vid shooting them playing cards, couldn't believe it well impressed. My question is I'm a carp fisherman and if shooting at ducks with my boilie baits or small stones to move the little buggers also shoot at wood pidgeons cos they make the most constant irritating noise. Only problem is how the fuck do I aim a catapult what is the method of aiming I have a black widow also where do you get those catapult handles.
