Im so happy I found your video. I definitely will make these in the near future. I made them with my mom but didn't have food processor, pasta machine or the fryer machine. Much easier now 😅❤

TFS! Not only Polish, Ukrainian recipe too! My parents immigrated from Ukraine to Montreal, Quebec, Canada in 1951 with my two brothers. My sister and I were born in Montreal and all four of us kids, read, write and speak Ukrainian. My mother made Chruschiki all the time and they were amazing!

I like what you said at the beginning. I watch on cooking shows on tv and you tube vdeos and them get their hands in dough and meat and have rings on. So gross. What does the vinegar and apple do for the oil? You did not tie them like in a knot. We always did. Thank you for sharing,

Just curious, does the food processor remove the necessity to knead the dough? I remember my mother-in-law kneading hers. Also, have you ever added some lemon zest to the dough at all? I'm glad that I stumbled upon your video, as your recipes look authentic and delicious.

I like the idea of using vinegar and apple and putting it on the fryer so cookie doesn’t absorb too much oil.Does that technique apply to anything u deep fry?

Anna my mother fried two things Chrusciki and Paczki, the rest was cooked on top of the stove or in the oven. I know adding vinegar and an apple could not hurt, if you do try it please let me know if you like the results.

Do you keep the apple in the oil the whole time you are frying the angel wings? Also, in the written recipe, it says to add one tablespoon of vodka, yet in the video you say to add white vinegar. Which is better?
@luclarecuisine

Ines take the apple out as soon as it starts to char, just be careful. You can add either. I'm going edit the bolg. Also, we are going redo the video. We need to correct the volume.

Carol I'm sorry that the volume on the video did not work for you. I'm not sure what happened when you tried playing the video. I just played the whole video, the volume on my computer worked well. We do have the recipe on our blog, written out step by step with pictures; luclarecuisine.blogspot.com/2018/09/chrusciki.html. On the blog we use the KitchenAid pasta attachment to roll out the chrusciki dough. Again, I'm you had issues with the volume.

first at all these chrusciki are not polish product and that's not real name for these fries cookies. This is a croatian product which belongs to mediterian islands from dalmatia and it calls KROSTULE. THIS EVEN ISN'T A REAL RECEPIE, COUSE OUR RECEPIE IS AUTHORITIZATED AND AUTHENTIC. IT'S BRANDING FROM EU

Filip like many recipes Chrusciki, Nalesniki, Pierogi, Bigos, etc are part of cuisine in many counties, they are known by different names and the recipes vary. Not only do the recipes vary from country to country also, within a country, depending on the region. I was born in south/eastern part of Poland, the recipe in this video was passed down to me by my mother and is true to the region.

It is Polish and there are similar recipes throughout eastern Europe. I never heard of putting folks in them. Lemon zest and vanilla are in mine. Best fried in lard at about 350 degrees F. Use pizza cutter makes it easier.

Food is mobile. What begins in one place moves to another, ingredients are changed a little, names are changed a little, and it is adopted into the local cuisine. Why so serious? I think you need to go make some of your Krostule and have a nice cup of coffee.
