I once crashed they're room where they were all chilling playing pool & a few beers waiting to go on stage at the princess charlett in Leicester back in the 90's, I explained my dad is the bass player for diesel park west (Geoff Beavan) which they all knew of & are fans of the band to, I was playing pool drinking jack & Coke with one of the lads can't remember now but they were a good bunch of guys & a great band, the bass player was using a stingray music man bass the same as my dads, which was nice.

Very cool! DPW and Blue Aeroplanes were standard carriers for guitar-led jangly rock in the 80s, never as fashionable as the synthpop crap but I think the music's lasted better.

English indie rock band founded in 1981 in Bristol by ex-members of short-lived punk band Art Objects by brothers Gerard and John, along with dancer Wojtek. The name Blue Aeroplanes comes from the Polish "Niebieske Samoloty" which was originally going to be the name of Wojtek's brother's band.

Wot's Wojtek up to now? Saw BA supporting James at Cardiff Student Union back in 1990 and they were great. Wojtek was the sweatiest man I think I have ever seen. Brilliant stuff
