Called a machanic to get quote to change my light out..I was quoted 90$ labor probably more because"lots of parts to remove to get to it". I found this video..THANK GOD!! Thanks Joe! This was very easy to accomplish with your instructions. Instead of using a washer to turn the slot, I ended up using some needle nose pliers to turn it because the groove was a bit worn. I'm a subscriber now!

Maybe “headlamp socket cover” ? You have to have it. It keeps water out of the light. Without it, your head light housing gets destroyed.

Many thanks, quick and easy. Just knowing what was in there made it so I could replace the bulbs more or less by only feel since the wheel was in my way most of the time. Also, I found a plain US quarter to be the perfect size for the slot to screw/unscrew the slot.

Demetrius West I’m glad this was helpful for you. Not all parts stores are really equipped to change these bulbs this way. Some of the Chevrolet’s, you have to actually remove the whole front bumper cover to get to the headlight bulbs.

Did you use a regular bulb or an LED? An LED will keep giving you an error unless you do some modifications.

Seems they made that improvement over our 2012, where you have to remove the wheel well liner to access the bulb.

I think you have to take the plastic inner fender liner out on the 2014. I’ve read that online. The process is similar to the 2015, but there’s no door so you take the whole panel out.

Blythe Lirette The bulb should be a “9012”. Best way to be absolutely certain is to take one bulb out and take it a parts store. They can help for sure.

Press in slightly on the back of the bulb as you turn counterclockwise. You can also try turning it gently clockwise slightly before going counterclockwise.

Tim Parsons I’m pretty sure you got your light out by now, however for anyone else who comes across this post with the same problem. You need to turn the bulb with force, like your turning a stuck doorknob, don’t be scared. You need more force and pressure than you will think to use.

thank YOU, Sir...I have a POS 2014 and it DOES NOT have that access door. So I'm going to modify the piss poor factory design and cut a square hole 4 inches square and make an access door to cover the assembly back up. I'm not going through the hell of bumper removal or fighting with the removal of those cheap plastic panels and those stupid fasteners. I WILL WIN this war on American made junk.

I would start by being absolutely certain that the bulbs are installed in the correct orientation. They should only fit one way I believe. Other than that you could try adjusting the Housing’s slightly upward with the set screw adjustment if you want to.

Might want to take the tire off, I dont know how you did it with it on, you have a 2015, I have a 2016 maybe they move the door a little ,but it was impossible to do it with the tire on.

Taking tire off helps. Turning the wheel to one side does make JUST enough room with the tire on tho.

Joe Wassap man. I’m having a little problem with my right headlight. I got new LED headlights and I’ve installed them. Originally the right side had stopped working like a couple of weeks back so I ordered new ones thinking that would solve it. So I installed the new LED lights just now and the left side works fine perfect, but the right side won’t work or turn on. I’ve tried switching the LED lights around like put the left side on the right and put the right side on the left but it still didn’t work. The left side works perfect even through all the switches and other methods I tried. Have any idea what the problem may be?

Couple of weeks back, I was working on the hood, like installing some LED turn signals which work perfectly, and I was also trying to work on unassemble some of the parts in hood to get to some screws that had dropped underneath which I finally got them. So i dont know if that’s where the problem started or what, maybe I didn’t assemble the hood back right or what? Because right after that is when the right side started to stop working

YAYA I’m gonna bet that there’s something disconnected or broken after the work in the fender. That’s the only thing that makes sense. You’ve tried three different bulbs now on that right side so it can’t be the bulbs.

Its usually a good practice to turn the lights on and check the bulb is working before closing it all back up....

As long as it’s a “9012” Bulb you’re good. Any Auto Parts store or Amazon bulb will work.

You can remove the rest of the plastic fender liner, or you can disconnect and remove the battery. You should be able to get it either way. Make sure you don’t leave that cap off for long. Moisture and dirt will destroy your headlight housing.

I haven’t worked on a 2016 for this yet, but I think it should be the same. You can always just turn the whee and look for the access door. That’s how you can tell.
