I want to thank you so much for the video. Had the same problem with my 300. I watched your video and an hour later my compressor is going again...Please keep up the videos they really make a difference for some people. I could not afford to put my car in the shop to fix this problem so thanks to you my kids and myself will be riding in an air-conditioned car.

THANKS ALOT, i just did it on my car( 3.5l 300),and just like you,the wire fell off,i poked out the old wire with a flat head screwdriver,cleaned out the green corrossion,and inserted a new wire and POOF, a/c clutch engaged,i think im just missing some freon,cuz it doesnt blow out cold air yet,but thanks alot👍

Working on a 05 300 right now turned out to be the same exact problem although the 05 model does have a ac relay but the same thing happened. Thanks for the vid !

For A/C issues on these 300's and chargers check the small fuses for A/C Clutch first. The fuse tends to be bad or the contacts for it are bad a lot. I just found one that works if you push the fuse down in more, let go and it turns off. Obviously bad contacts for the 10a A/c clutch fuse.

James please tell me how I can send you a case of beer. I have been FIGHTING this issues for a few YEARS with no success. Funny enough I actually watched your video once before and somehow missed trying the fix. It was 100% a corroded wire and it even broke off in my hand like in your video. I clipped off a TPIM wire connectors at the local junk yard when I purchased what I thought could be the issue ( the actual TIPM). I popped out the old corroded one, spliced in the new one, reconnected the connector, started the car and POOF.. the a/c clutch engaged and I had cold air.... Thank You SOOOOOOOOOOO Much for your video, it saved us a lot of money and time. Rob

Sweet diagnosis and fix Danner. Thanks for showing all of us how a pro does it! BTW, you may be able to use the soldering iron to shrink the tubing. I use the side ports of the iron since they exhaust the heat from the tip. Works pretty good.

Absolutely great video 👍 had the exact same wire broke of in my TIPM. So I got that to fix...but sadly I'm not getting the ground signal to that wire with the AC on...freon good, clutch is good(I can manually start the compressor by grounding out that pin on the back of the plug) So now I'm at a loss... I'm not sure if it's the power control module or the actual head unit that's not getting the signal to the TIPM.

(0.18) lbs was there any leaks? What's your preferred method for checking for leaks, nitrogen and soapy water, dye, leak detector. Nice video keep up the good work.
@jamesdanner78507 жыл бұрын
+James L another shop was in there before me and the customers note said it could be empty. So if there is anything in it, I usually do the dye thing and ask customer to return for a black light check. I usually sniff the vents with the detector tho. Even with .18 lbs in it there was probably 50 lbs or so of static pressure. Alot of times a full charge could last the season and some elect to just charge it every spring. If there is zero pressure, I'll pull a vacuum to see if it holds at all. If so, I'll still charge it with dye and look for the leak that day. They usually show up quick. If it doesn't hold vacuum, I have a spare low side hose that I blow shop air into and do the hiss or tire leak seek bubble check.

I own a Chrysler Crossfire which does exact same thing but since it is built by Mercedes I am afraid to mess with it. The compressor does not engage but it is full or Freon . I wish I had someone to look at it . No mechanic wants to work on this car .We as Crossfire owners have no supports for these cars any longer The forums don't even have a fix for the Key or Skreem and God forbid you loose a key or your Skreem security module goes out your screwed . I can not even buy a replacement key fob and when you could buy them they sell for $600 and you must order it from Chrysler or a few specialty key places with no ETA and no refund because the key is vin related it is scary to not have a replacement key because they have transponders in the key fob no one will remake no locksmith will touch it. Just want to let anyone know interested in a Crossfire do your research first . I love my Crossfire but no one can fix the key issue treat your one key like the crown jewels . If you loose your one key you will own a very cool looking boat anchor .

Pause at 15:37 and look at the terminals in the connector with the red/white wires. They are green. Chrysler should be ashamed for using unsealed connectors (IN THE 21ST CENTURY), which are exposed to the elements. These 300-series cars are an electrical disaster. I have done electrical repairs for three co-workers with this series of car, and found similar problems, with wires green and broken off. (we are not working in automotive repair industry) If you own one of these cars, FLOOD all of the electrical connectors with ACF-50 to reverse the green crusties, and curtail future problems.
@jamesdanner78507 жыл бұрын
+LakeNipissing thanks. Don't know about that acf50. I gotta look into that

Check out their website. It is essentially a mil-spec aviation multi-metal corrosion inhibitor which is harmless to electronic components, and not flammable or toxic. It is _intended_ to be applied to PC boards and connectors. We have been using it for more than 20 years in industrial/chemical environment with 100% success, and I use it at home on all automotive electronics, wiring, connectors, and potentiometers.
@kingdavid4u1588 Жыл бұрын
Your car engine sounds like that tho bc your timing is off a little. Just wanted to let you know. I am a pro at changing and replace water pump n timing chain on these engines. When the timing goes off, it kinda retards the engine and the knock sensor also retards the engine makes it sound like a diesel engine when running. the timing chain just needs replaced but most likely it's actually the timing chain tensioner that needs replaced most likely m they go bad very quickly sometimes. Also your timing can be off completely and your car will still run. It's a non interference engine. So it won't damage your engine which is a good thing. But yea as for my ac and the bad blue/Yellow wire. I just pushed a new wire in and twisted the broken wire to that new wire I pushed in and that solved all my problems.

The Chrysler 300 is a non-interference engine? Are you totally sure about that?
