Chrysler 300 U Code Drag Car

This is a 1970 Chrysler 300 U code TX9 TX9 hardtop we bought off a friend of mine after many years of sitting on a lift in a garage. He used to bracket race the car at Raceway Park in Englishtown NJ. He had owned the car all the back to the 80’s and kept it in immaculate condition.

very nice C body Mopar! the 300 2dr is a great blend of musclecar-cruiser. the R/T badge on the grill is not factory...but a neat retro mod that was common in the 70's. the color and left stock is the best this car could be. what a nice car!

Many years ago; there was a 1970 300 with the U code and a console floor shift....it was a 4 door hardtop, sold new in SoCal

You're going to love watching this video from time to time. Fantastic find and that TNT has V code internals. I found that out when I picked up my 300 Hurst. It's gone but I just found a triple black New Yorker with a sunroof and a T code. Looked it up and it sounds like the granny version of the 440. I'll find out when the weather is conducive. Anyway all the best with that super nice, low mileage gem you've got. Love to see it all detailed. I'd put it high up on four (6,000 lb) jackstands and clean the underside until it's spotless and treat it with Fluid Film. If there's no rust now, there never needs to be again with a little elbow grease.

I'm looking to get either a 1970 Plymouth Furry III GT Sport, or 1 of these, as they look almost identical. I was born in '70, so having 1 of these gorgeous old muscle cars would be an exemplification of myself. Love your 300 R/T!

A guy in Lac dubonnet Mb. Canada had the same. He pc.d it out for his other rare mopars in his yrd. Cant think of his name...he was an avid collector. Nice to see these big boats floating around again. 👍

I loved my '69 convertible 300. I paid $2500 for her in 1988. She was a garage queen, cream puff. I traded it for a '39 Plymouth rod.

I've got a 70 300, I painted it gold and white ,added hurst billboard decals , I wanted a 70 300h since I was a kid, it now resembles the Linda Vaughn special, I did put a hurst shifter in it , I find it odd not one of the 498 300 hurst cars had a hurst shifter, 3 tons of fun!

Found 1 of those in the 90s daddy longleg addition, factory 6pack tnt 440,in the last days Chrysler had 6pack engines left over & stuffed them in city ,state bought cars to get rid of the inventory!! True story

Uncle had one like this , however I have no clue if it was a U code. It was the same looking car, power everything 1970 440 2 door in an olive green/gold colour . It was in sweet shape he was a firefighter and it was always clean. Sadly it was stolen and wrecked.

I wonder how many non-police U code C bodies they made. The car is in downright amazing condition and I would get rid of the cheesy gauges (they weren't there when the car was new) and give it a good wash down and wax it with Collinite.

Had a 69 Newport 2 dr 5:06 bought in 1980 for $100. Put limitred slip dif in it and used it as a winter car so the Scirocco would get no salt Painted black just like this one. 6 people could go skiing with even DH racing skis in the trunk. Spedo could be buried easily. Sure liked gas though

Leave the fuel line where it is reshape it to get it lower today's fuel even alcohol free is not set up for low pressure and heat soak laying along the block and intake may cause vapor lock it did in late 70's and early 80's even on short trips
