Wow ,, This must be Chrysler's very first service slide show and phono-record teaching release. The puppet Tech introduces himself. The talk and words used are from my dad's generation , the WW II generation. Chrysler stopped using the puppet Tech in 1972. A great and warm way to teach ! I am glad Chrysler stayed in business.

I love it. Volume 1-1. First of the "Tech" series. He'd be at it until 1972.

Wow...what a really cool video and a walk down memory lane. I remember using a distributor synchrograph in the 70s. It was a great tool for diagnosing and testing distributors. It was the best way to set up dual-point distributors. Sadly, I think the synchrograph has all but disappeared now.

Chrysler was the best out of the big 3 for service centers coast to coast. From 1947 to present day , they are still the best ! The ghost of Walter Chrysler keeps their service number 1 , because Walter Chrysler started his career servicing steam train locomotives and was number 1 at it ,, in the 1890's.

It's a shame their products spend more time in the service bay than on the road...

In 1949 , Ford changed the look and style of the American car, with the 49 Ford , shaped like a loaf of bread.. Buick, Plymouth, Dodge, DeSoto and Chrysler all kept the rear protruding fenders up till 1952. Oldsmobile kept the rear protruding fenders up till until 1951. Chevy and Pontiac kept the rear protruding fenders up till 1954. Then in 1957 rear tail fins became the style! BTW , if you include Hudson , they changed their look in 1948 to the loaf of bread style..

I'm guessing Chrysler shipped these cars with faulty vacuum units and the service centers were just dropping in new ones. So Chrysler stopped shipping new ones and show how to repair them. But adding a washer? How long can that last before you need another washer?

Wow. 3 mechanics plus a puppet actually trying to diagnose a customers car. Don’t think you would get that kind of service now. Today it would be “recommended replace ignition system” or “replace fuel system”.
