Step-by-step guide on recharging / refilling ac air conditioner on Chrysler Town & Country minivan. This video might come in handy in case you are on a budget and can't afford taking the vehicle to the professional mechanical shop to have the a/c recharged.
Before you can start you will have to purchase a/c recharge kit which comes with a/c recharge hose, gauge and usually two cans of a/c refrigerant. Connect a/c freon can to one side of the hose and connect other side of the a/c hose to low pressure charging port on the vehicle. Then pierce the a/c refrigerant can by turning the top knob all the way in. Start the vehicle, turn on the a/c and set the fan speed to highest setting. Slowly start releasing the knob which will charge the system. Make sure to keep checking the gauge as you don't want to overcharge the system. That might damage the a/c compressor. Once you are done and happy with the results you can turn off the vehicle and disconnect everything.
This will work in case there is no major leaks in the a/c system and a/c compressor is working. If there is a leak you will have to take the vehicle to a shop to have it properly diagnosed.
If there is a smaller leak you can try charging the system with a/c stop leak which will could take care of the problem.
Thanks for watching.
