My wife and I just did this, refilling the air conditioning following your video instructions. It worked great! Thank you very much for posting this, and making it so clear and easy to understand. This was just what we needed.

I would check the pressure prior to puncturing the freon can. In case the pressure is normal.

I think it's so the ac compressor is running. Wouldn't want to charge it while its off I imagine.
@lillymckinnon9813 жыл бұрын
ac lines are pressurized, gauge will not read accurately if compressor is not running and lines are not pressurized. use low pressure lines as the refrigerant is in a gas state in that line whereas it’s a liquid in high pressure lines
@rayurena37894 жыл бұрын
I still think the best way to fill is knowing the pressures from both sides by using the proper ac gauges.

What if you can't get the cap off to put the hose on???
@shark70007000 Жыл бұрын
Why can't I fi d a video showing the ports for mine? 2001 T&C 3.8. There isn't that hose to the back on the firewall. There is one in front of alternator and one behind air filter. The connector is supposed to only fit the low side, so I hope I got the right one. But it won't take more charge. The can I got is still about half full and no more will go in. But the pressure fuage on the top of the can is always on the low side.

I did this but the needle on The gauge keeps going back down I had it up to 40 and it went back down to 30 so something else is causing this problem right? like a leak somewhere?

This is a great tutorial. They says you don’t need to use the full van. How do you know when the van is ‘full’?

The gauge should tell you the pressure. Just look up the recommended pressure

What if my rear ac blower doesn’t work? Do I still have to turn it on while recharging? I can hear it running but no air pumps out of the rear ceiling vents.
@andrews58614 жыл бұрын
Try changing your cabin air filter behind your lower glove box.
@Keenadian4 жыл бұрын
This is 3 months old so idk if you found your answer but if the rear blower is running and no air is coming out it's likely the flap motor.

Great video, I tried 1 can and it didn't work. I will update after I try 1 more can. Hopefully it works!!! Another question is how long should it take? I tried for 10-15mins to make sure the can was used. It was cold for the first few mins and I did shake the can the whole time. Buuut anyways going to try one more. It still read in the low side on my guage
@matthewdiduck2 жыл бұрын
Sooo I added a second can but for some reason it's not taking the can? Any thought? Not sure what happened. Like it didn't puncture but it definitely did.

@recklessrc10634 жыл бұрын
I just had the same problem make sure you have the correct hose to use with the can. some cans are self sealing you need the proper hose.
@xdrive88604 жыл бұрын
Why did you show one can of refrigerant in the beginning of the video then put something different in...no stop leak in the can you put in.

You didn't check the compressor was on before loading the R-134a. Didnt check how much you need, potentially more than 1 can.

Location really matters on this one only if you don't know what your doing. Easy access. I've had some cars that had the low side port in much more troublesome locations. This one is nothing compared.
