If you can grab either terminal on the battery and move it with your bare hands and minimal effort, replace the terminal with one that will tighten down. I got one from Walmart for under $20 and have not had the problem since.

Great video my wifes 2012 Town and Country starts shaking when you stop and turns off or tried to turn off Then once you start to drive it jerks like when you start rolling again. I notice too the the engine is running at 500 rpms or less. We have the Code for the Catalytic converter not sure whats going on. Thanks Auggie

Bad WIN module. It’s gonna get progressively worse until it just will not restart. My initial research showed parts were super expensive $600-$900+ reprogramming of key fob. I shopped around and found the new module at my dealer for $250+$75 reprogramming fee. I installed the module myself in the dealer parking lot, it’s extremely easy and took about 1 1/2 minutes. The guy walked out and reprogrammed it in about 10 minutes. $325 and 15 minutes including the phone call to order the part. This was on my 2012 RAM 2500, but same applies to most mopar models.

Thank you for this video. We have a 2015 Town&Country and started having this exact issue. My wife has always told me to use the key ONLY instead of the huge key ring full of keys and Covid door opener thing. We are convinced that the extra weight created the problem. Also, Carmax only gave us ONE key (crooks) and we had to buy an aftermarket spare which might have contributed to the problem as well.

thanks for posting this. there is another guy that posted a video about this and he used silly putty to wedge the key into the ignition, i guess anything to prevent the key from wiggling around too much seems to help.

It turns out that I replaced the “always loose” battery connection cables, both red & black. Fixed that problem immediately and permanently. The factory ones would not tighten down securely.

I have this same car and it has been a total nightmare. $9k in repairs in 2 years. Rebuilt engine, rebuilt transmission, cv axle, fuse box (totally integrated power module), oil cooler, oil pressure sensor, alternator, struts, heater hose, transmission cooler line, brake caliper, abs sensor, catalytic converter, radiator. All under 100k miles. Can't even remember all the other parts that were replaced. Never buy Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge. Their products are not cars. They are expensive death traps.

Lynn Rackliff Hi Lynn, The van is not being used at all since it’s so dangerous to drive. The issue is just gotten worst. With that said this van has multiple issues since new and it qualified for California lemon law. I will be taking it back to the dealership I’m just waiting for them to send me the date to bring it back.
