For not functioning fuel gauges, just estimate how much you drive in a full tank before it’s empty. Reset your trip odometer to zero each time at refuelling, then you’re good to go.

I have a 1996 Toyota Camry. After new alternator and power steering belts were replaced, my car shut off suddenly while driving and all the dashboard lights were on. I use a jump starter to start the engine, because the battery could not start the engine. Then, a new battery and alternator were replaced. Unfortunately, shutting off suddenly while driving problems happened two more times. I brought my car to a garage shop, mechanics could not find the problem. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated thank you

My car does this too, my RPM goes up and down while stopped or idling and it will shut off, I'm just thankful the shoot starts back up

The same thing happened to my Kia Optima 2012. A few months ago my car started to shut of while driving. I would leave it for one day then it would turn on again. You most likely need to change the camshaft sensor and check for oil leaks cause that's the cause of this problem. Unfortunately today my car just stopped while driving and it won't turn on at all. One of the worst cars ever made.

I have a 2011 Honda Fit. Suddenly the engine blips and causes the computer to shut off for a second and locks the steering wheel, but doesnt turn the engine completely off. Its happened when In reverse and turning the wheel farthest to the left. Ive taken it to a garage and the car stopped doing it. It still has its original spark plugs. It turned the engine off once when I was driving normally, but hasnt done it since. The check engine light only stays on for the brief few seconds the computer locks up. Any suggestions would be appreciated, The garage was no help at all. They wouldnt check anything because the car didnt replicate the issue. >.

I had this happen to me the battery moved and the ground post hit a ground for a second then bounced back off make sure your battery can't move

My 2005 mercury mountaineer is still cutting off after intake replaced sensors replaced new stater, alternator replaced they even reprogram my keys. And it still will drive normal for a few days and just cut off, plus it keeps killing the battery if you don't crank it once a week. Can anyone give me some helpful advice.

Modern cars don’t have distributers anymore. They have coil packs. But you’re right on those which still use distributors with spinning rotors inside them

Codes came out with 2 faulty O2 Sensors. I never tought a sensor can cause my van to shut off while running

Likely highly that two sensors are bad can be a driver issue or a vacuum leak causing a lean or rich condition. But faulty sensors (02 or air fuel ratio sensors) can cause the condition of the engine to run a certain way if the condition is real bad like a failed heating element on the sensor is clogged to the point of no return or failed completely to where the module/driver can’t read it the computer will sense it as very bad in which it will or can throw it into limp mode or shut down all together.
