Cycle two or three times at most, and please keep cranking for longer than 0.5 milliseconds. It would probably have started the first time around with only one glow plug cycle ... if you cranked it for longer than 0.5 milliseconds.

in -21 engine can not start with one working glow plug. ;)

Over here in the US, it was sold as the Chrysler Town and Country and the Dodge Caravan. I prefer this generation over the ones from 2008 and after.

Thanks for your comments. You are absolutely right about gas. When I was starting it first of all I tried without stepping gas. As soon as I hit gas then it started. I had mercedes previously and no gas was needed since ECU calculates and give as much gas as needed in order to start. Mercedes was 1998 year. Now this chrysler is 2007 but you have to step on gas to start it as an 1986 dyzel :). But.. It is good enough for me if it starts :)

i have a chrysler voyager 2.8 i do that 25 times... but not working. when i put hot water on the motor in that time its working. :((((( i know my motor is died soon.

I sold it to my neibour. Still runs and starts perfect 280000 on the odometer.

I have 300k km on odo meter and still perfect. Our neighbor also have Voyager with even 650k km on Odometer and car is still driving cool ^^

Impressive! But I wonder why you turned the key on and off so many times. I have a jeep with the same engine. On cold days, I wait for the glow plug light to go out and immediately begin cranking the engine. It will start on the first try. In America there were no Caravans sold with the 2.8 CRD engine so you are fortunate to have one. I don't know if the ones built for foreign sales require an EGR valve. I certainly hope not because it requires a lot of maintenance.

+Paul Moleleki Sekhalo By not start do you mean the starter motor isnt turning the motor over as is normal, or do you mean the engine spins and wont start running. My Grandfather told me a long time ago,.. SUCK,..SQUEEZE,..BANG,..BLOW,.. A motor requires 4 things to operate. Air, Fuel,Spark,Compression. The 4 cycle engine operates as stated, suck, squeeze, bang, blow,.. Intake= suck,.Compression = squeeze = bang = spark/fuel,. , blow= exhaust stroke. Check all fuses and battery connections both ends not just at the battery,

Have a continuous smoke issue took out egr valve today what a stupid and pain in the backside design impossible to remove and get to...not sure its the egr to blame drives fine anyone knows what could be the reason for this problem? Will put back egr after clean and see.

hm????? Why would engine (or glow plugs or even accu) be destroyed if I turn on and off glow plugs? Does it produce too much heat for cold engine?

Чего то он плохо заводится,мой с первого раза ,и не нужно несколько раз свечи пускать,это всё предрассудки,свечи с первого раза должны накаляться и двигатель должен запускаться! Тем более мороз -21 это нормально.

no, no no. You destroy your diesel , accu and glow plugs ! 1. Turn the key -> heat glow plugs, 2. heating lamp off 3. Start engine, even if you shoot a few seconds My diesel start in some second bei -21. You must repear your engine.
