I'm so happy Chubby's song "The Twist" was recognized by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. I saw Chubby and his band live and it was one of the greatest concerts I have seen, it was pure magic. I hope he is personally recognized, he really deserves it. I have yet to experience a concert that drew me into it and really rocked in the way only Chubby can: his energy was amazing and every song was an incredible journey through time. I have seen meany greats over the years, but Chubby is by far the most memorable. And ironically it was one of the smaller venues.

I just saw Chubby on a local PBS interview at 5AM.That's how I found out about this great song. This man is a great example of someone who's made peace with unfairness. He loves his audience. He deserves more media attention.

Brings Tears to My Eyes! I saw him at least 10 yrs ago and thought "wow" that guy can still sing and boy could he move!! But this song --- he sounds so different and young and the soulful meaning behind this. Way to go my friend - goes to show there are still those out there who know how to make real music!!

Chubby picked me up hitchhiking through Alabama on the way to New Orleans. His drummer was driving. We ate a bucket of chicken in Pascagoula Mississippi. He invited us to Metairie to visit him at the club where he was playing. He was a very nice man.

I always knew he had a beautiful tenor voice. This proves it. No loss of range or power - and the song is excellent, too. Did he write it - or does he just "own" it?!? Good for you, Mr. Ernest Evans - 71 going on 21.

This song blows me away... its awesome. The man is 71 years old and you'd never know it from his voice... he sounds like he's thirty. I'm stunned because I didn't think he was even still recording. I mean, his last huge hit, "The Twist", was in 1958, for heaven's sake. But this song should climb the charts.

Love you Chubby ❤️ I will always remember as a little girl probably six years old watching you sing The Twist and saying I love you Chubby. I told my Dad I want to marry Chubby Checker when I grow up and my father said to me, maybe by the time you grow up, people will not be racists. I’m now 70 years old and to my dismay, there is some still around. I pray that life has treated you kindly. racists.

I said it decades ago -- there is a lot more to Chubby Checker than just "The Twist." He tried to prove it with his MCA Records' Bruce Springsteen-oriented "The Change Has Come." It was sax driven and it rocked. But, as exciting as that LP was it went nowhere -- maybe it was the wrong time. Then he tried country and did it quite well with an album called "Texas Twist." This new track -- "Changes" -- is commendable, excellent and Checker, as always, is in fine voice. Let's hope there's an entire album coming. Bobby Vee, as well, just released a great Americana album called "The Adobe Sessions." Worth investigating. Chubby Checker? He deserves the attention he gets for this new track -- he has always been a great singer & performer.

We are told in the word of God If Any man be in Christ he is a new creature, All things as passed away behold all things become new. Think on this song with that in mind.

Dean Walker Hey. It was an honest reaction to a gratuitous piece of pretentiousness. I have no objection to Christians believing whatever they want to and I have no doubt that Jesus was a fine fellow. If you think that you're comparable to him - well, I'm sure there's a therapist who can help. I object to proselytising on the innocent back of Chubby Checker.
@elderwalker.9 жыл бұрын
Boviss1 Didn't say I compare myself to Jesus but by His own words we can do what He did by faith. And as for Cubby Checker there was a time when black entertainers song gospel songs to remind them where they come from the black church. and who knows how Cubby Checker felt about God. And how many today do what it takes to live? The song is nice and it tells us if and when someone accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior there is a change that happens to you.
@Boviss1Bovis9 жыл бұрын
Dean Walker Doing what her did and giving lessons about it are different things. If you 'do what he did' you will get the same medicine he received as well. I am not talking about living among the self congratulating and self satisfied hypocrites who inhabit many American churches either. Do you live among the outcasts and the poor? The whores and thieves and beggars who were Jesus's companions? Yeah right.. You should learn the virtues of silence. And be humble, for we have much to be humble about. 'Justification by Faith Alone' is a Nazi doctrine and unchristian. It allows people to pretend to 'know' the secret mind of God. Your theology is wonky. Your 'beliefs' are all well and good if you keep their silliness to yourself.
@elderwalker.9 жыл бұрын
Been there started there and go back there to minister which includes feeding the hungry healing the sick blessing those in need because I been blessed. And did you think we are hypocrites?
