I first saw this movie " Twist Around the Clock " in 1971 ten Years after its release. I was 8 years old at the time. Never forgot it and it was 30 years - 2001 until I saw it again. And taped it off TV. Always liked the twist. To my family - Now you know where I got my Twist moves from. Lol. I studied Chubby Checkers moves and copied them.

I was raised in that era, too. I think the Twist was popular because it was designed for the many people who couldn't dance. Like me.

By my count, in the U.S. there were eight that were released as singles. The last one was with the Fat Boys in 1988. Of these, seven were Top 100, five were Top 40, and three were Top 10. Only the first and original was Number 1 (twice in the U.S., 1960 and 1962). There may be others on his albums or LPs.; you would need to check the list of songs on these.

Update: I have just uncovered 2 more songs: "Twist Along" and "Lose Your Inhibitions Twist", which were either in movies or/and TV programs, and probably also on LPs. So, that makes at least ten total Twist songs ! You can locate these two here on "YT" also.
