He talks about working long hours for Roseanne. I'm told that he really knows how to run a show now and writers are typically out the door by 5:00.

I am pleased to see him giving Roseanne the respect she deserves. People forget what a pioneer in tv she was. She had to fight tooth and nail for everything she got, but she never backed down. The cast loved her--the press never talks about that--they only talk about disgruntled execs and writers who couldn't cut it.

I agree with you that Roseanne is a pioneer for women and deserves that tittle but with all honesty she is/ was not a saint. The way she treated/ spoken too people working for her was appalling (cursing out writers and spitting on their work, throwing temper tantrums and refusing to work) was just unprofessional child like behavior and is irrefusable to dismiss. I know she may be good work wise but to give respect you have to get respect, something Roseanne never earned. It's the same story with Cybill, and Brett Butler.. they expect(ed) people to bow down to them just because of their name, that bratty behavior is why Brett is homeless and Cybill is ignored by everyone in Hollywood.
