Charlie Callas never got the credit he deserved. My brother and his son David were the same age and were good friends in Fort Lee, NJ. They both went to Fort Lee High. I remember the time my brother told me when David and him were tossing the football back and forth on David's lawn, Callas' son. They were around 17 and Charlie lived right across the street from the high school. As they were tossing the ball back and forth. I'm laughing just imagining it. Here comes Charlie out the front door doing his silly faces and noises for my brother and his son. They were cracking up. I wish I was there. That had to be priceless. That was in like 75. I knew David as well being him being my brother's friend. The last time I saw David Callis last was August 9th, 1984. It was at the Marriott Riverwatch Cafe on The Fort Lauderdale beach. It was unlimited champagne. My girlfriend and I were there, her 16 and me 17. We were having a good time. Champagne glasses in each hand. I was very surprised to run into him. I asked how his father was doing and after a bit proceeded on. You may asked why the date? Why does this guy or how does this guy remember the date. Well when Maryann and I left the club she was to die no more than 3 hours later while driving my car and I was the passenger. We went off the road at 70 miles an hour. She was ejected as the car flipped over as we hit a the wall of a building. I was thrown from the passenger side to the driver's side as the car flipped on the drivers side before it came to it's final rest upside down. She died on the scene and I was rushed to the trauma center. Where after being stabilized I was informed that I was wrongfully being charged with her death. It only occurred to me now that other than myself. David Callis was the last one to see her alive. RIP Maryann, RIP. Your one and only true love. TS.

One minute of silence for the humor, today is dead. THAT was REAL HUMOR....

I wish I lived during the 50s and 60s especially in Hollywood amongst these stars. Every where you went men were dressed in suits or slacks with a tucked in polo or button down of some kind with dress shoes or loafers. What made it even more interesting were the hats! I like to wear a hat either fedora or panama when I’m dressed up and always a pocket square. But the men and woman of this time period were something else. They knew how to laugh the knew what a man was and is they knew how to have good fun. The government and local police would never put up with the lawlessness of today or cater to the fringe part of society ( they do deserve to be treated fairly and with respect, the same you would show anyone depending on the situation ofcourse). No social media and life was a lot slower to be enjoyed in the moment.

I love Charlie Callas. So weird and random that I was thinking about Charlie Callas literally today and this came up in my feed. Who thinks of Charlie Callas? No talk. This afternoon. WTFF

Frank Sinatra wasn't know for self-deprecating humor. However, at these roasts, even old blue eyes had a good time.

The more I see these roasts, they appear to me like toasts to the finest comedians and artists ever assembled on one dais. Charlie Callas was a master of comedy. "In order to protect myself, I threw myself on her body." 😂😂😂

Quality Comedy can't be beaten with foul mouth trash. Had old blue eyes, Martin & Rickles in stitches. Comedic Class from Callas.

This WAS comedy. Those days are gone forever. Ain't nothing today that can compare. So sad.
