It's billions of years though. Look at how much tech has advanced in the last century alone; it's so far in the future that it's beyond impossible to imagine. Even now we have papers written on stellar engines, the blueprint for moving the whole solar system. I legitimately don't see why moving the Earth is such a far-fetched concept for this future civilization.

the obvious problem i see with moving the earth is that earth and everything on it has been literally built to exist in that specific orbit around the sun. gradual changes over millions of years maybe could happen, but i doubt we'll be able to just take the planet and move it somewhere else without totally fucking up the environment
