As a bisexual myself, this felt very weird and delegitimizing. I know they didn't mean any harm but it came off to me as them essentially treating Ted like a fictional character and stripping him of his agency. I would be taken aback if someone had told me they're fully convinced some alternate version of me is heterosexual. That same logic still applies to heterosexual people, just because they weren't being homophobic doesn't make it less messed up to say.

Helen Keller wasn’t stupid, she just couldn’t see or hear. But she figured out how to communicate and she wasn’t fully flying the plane, she just held the sticks. It’s not that hard if someone tells you(signs in this case) to you what you have to do. I recommend the video “was Helen Keller a fraud?” By soup emporium. Honestly the view that she was lying or didn’t know how to do anything is ableist and ignorant (no hate to the chuckle gang, love these guys just felt like commenting)

Also context clues and such helped her to learn what words meant and what they were. Just like how deaf children learn language or how a blind person learns to read braile. During the plane ride the interpreter told her what to do either by signing in her hand or speaking and Helen touching her mouth. And like I said, she wasn’t full on flying the plane, more so just holding the stick and doing what she was told

Hello, Helen Keller was absolutely a real person, who had the disabilities she said she did and did the things she said she did. How can i say this for sure? because other blind/deaf people have had the disabilites she said she had and have done the things she said she had. RECENTLY. the most recent person I could find flew a plane in 2012, who communicated in the same way that Keller did. the 2012 example was also a 15-year-old. deaf/blind people can and do absolutely learn to do the things Keller did, because it's not some miracle. The video "Was Hellen Keller a Fraud | The Deep Dive" by Soup Emporium goes into an extensive amount of detail about this. It's generally just an ableist conspiracy theory that is perpetuated becuase people think blind/deaf people are blubbering fools with no awareness of the world around them. Please attempt not to spread such sentiment in the future.
