What an amazing trip, beautiful country and super fish. Loved your orange ice fishing rig a fellow employee who was a conservation officer showed my 4 year old son almost 30 years ago how to make those. Now my grandchildren use the very ones their Dad made in our shop when he was a little gaffer.

Great series. I noticed it looks like three expeditions and your skandic. How do the expeditions compare to the skandic? Looking at both for 2024 (our dealer sold out early for 2023!).

Expedition a little more comfy. Stylish. The skandic in my opinion is meant for more of a work horse machine. The main reason I like skandics is because they have everything under the front belly pan enclosed. No a-arms etc exposed. I would have those a-arms bent up in no time given the places I go.

Hi Chuck! Ken here from Nova Scotia. I have a question about seals. I watched you guys drill holes in the ice. Had to be 4 or 5 feet thick, or more. How does a seal get to the high side of the ice? Do they find a crack or week spot in the ice? Or just scratch from the bottom until they’re through? Another day of great fishing. Would be such a life changing experience for sure.

Hey ken it’s my understanding that they just keep the hole open all winter by continuously using that hole (plus other holes) all winter. Up and down, up and down, thereby keeping the water moving and never freezing. I guess they can never get lazy lol
