Does the squeeze ball work good for you? I have so much fuel line and it goes up around the fan shroud that just by cranking the fuel wont move. I have to fill up the bowl manually in order for it to run long enough for the pump to get the fuel from the tank to the carb. I saw what you did with the squeeze ball. It sounds like fuel flows plentiful through it. Seems like 5-7 primes and my bowl will be full of fuel. once my bowl is full just a few pumps of gas and my engine starts first try always. Seems better than buying an electric fuel pump. Im trying to keep it as simple as possible
@chud3279 жыл бұрын
John Gonzalez simple is what I like. I am using the boat gas can as a temporary solution, but once I can a permanent tank, I am thinking of keeping the squeeze ball. It is great when you run out of gas, give it a couple of pumps and it fires right up. I recommend it for you, but those little squeeze ball seem to shot up price the last few years, but still cheaper than an electric fuel pump.
@vwmetal669 жыл бұрын
chud327 I ended up getting one and it worked beautifully. My carb would always drain the fuel back down to the tank after a few days. This lets me prime the carb without having to worry about getting an electric pump. It cost 15 bucks and i thought that it was money well spent. Im glad i saw this video
@chud3279 жыл бұрын
I actually saw them at Wal-Mart tonight ($18.??) and I thought of our conversation. I too am glad that you saw my video. I used that same one on my V8 S-10 project. The tank was in the way back and the mechanical pump just wouldn't suck the gas that far. That gas ball work great for that too. We should make them standard equipment on all mechanically pump vehicles... Do you have any videos of your ride on here? Thanks for watching!
@vwmetal669 жыл бұрын
chud327 It just seems logical to have them on a mechanically pumped car. Anyways no no videos yet. Here where i live i cant ride it on the street, OHV only. The nearest OHV area to my house is about 55 miles away. I dont have land like you where i can just take off from my house. It sucks but oh well that part of living in metropolitan areas in california.
@chud3279 жыл бұрын
There is no way to make it street legal? If not, that does stink. What do you have to do, tow bar of trailer it 55 miles? Anyway, it looks like a sweet ride and it will be worth the 110 mile round trip ride to go and play. Please make a video that day! I am about to put some tires on mine that look about the same size as yours. Hopefully they won't be too big...

This is a nice build man I've always loved these You should consider bleeping out the part about using the title from the '72 bug. I know in most states doing that is a class E felony. Your situation might be different though I'm not sure about these cars
@chud3278 жыл бұрын
+Allen Ivy thanks and have you seen the other 5 updates? If you watch them, let me know what you think. I don't think it is a felony here. You use that bug to build the buggy, so it is still partly that bug or something like that. I will be sure to look into that. Thanks for watching and for the comment.
@thegxpguy8 жыл бұрын
+chud327 yup I sure did but was wondering what happened to it? :( no recent updates. I may be confused.. I think it's if you remove or swap vin tags from vehicle to vehicle. I'm not sure if either of these ever even have vin numbers or not the big or the dunes. Then again everyone does it if they acquire a vehicle without a title
@chud3278 жыл бұрын
I have the next video update about 95% ready to upload and I work on it every now and again. However, my current project is eating up all of my free time. I am build a tiny house and I am almost done with it, maybe then I can spend a little more time on the buggy. Have you checked out my tiny house series yet. That would be something to watch while you are waiting on the buggy update. If you decide to watch, let me know what you think.

get you a good tuned exhaust and forget about that tpee setup
@chud3279 жыл бұрын
Robert Quigley that teepee does have its cons; easy to touch when it is hot, in the way of many air cleaners, sticks way out, and probably too loud for future street use. There are also some pros; loud, it is already on, and it was free (came with the engine). I will probably get something better some day, what do you suggest? Thanks for the comment.
@robertquigley67539 жыл бұрын
chud327 I have a big tube ceramic coated tuned exhaust that works really well. the better it breaths the better it runs. I am running a single 44mm Weber with 041 big valve heads and a 110 Engle cam and it will surprise the hell out of you. sounds great, will outrun most anything you will ever come up on. while you have it down get it powder coated but make sure you have the color you want. mine is tangerine orange. looks like something a Tennessee Vol fan would love and the back tires are rite at 15" wide for grabbing and they are ultra light. try to find some used rims and you will save big bucks. get the heads on line and you will save about 45%. Empi sells the exhaust. have fun. getting ready to fire mine back up. I have two of them. a Chenowth and a short back. IT IS AN ADDICTION
