I just finished up a rail here in idaho. I moved the fuel cell up front and with the winch and battery that made a big improvement. Great video

i added a winch to the front of mine, went with steel cable for a little added weight. i can take turns much faster. it is much nicer to loose a little traction at the rear wheels and NOT the front wheels when you have speed in a turn

I like the way you did the top-rear roll cage much better than it's original design. It'll perform better being narrower at the rear. The bolt on/off lower-rear roll cage is a must too. Nice work.

The exhaust in these usually meets in the rear middle. Should 've made the exhaust form to the frame, not the other way around. This is done to protect them in roll overs. Not sure how many hills you're climbing but those wouldn't survive many rolls.

WElllllll, Not the way I would have done it but as long as the owner is happy with it. I built sand rails, that is a rock crusher but simply by changing the back tires you could have a lot of fun in the sand too.

yo i got the same motor 1600cc single port. its pretty sick what you did with the back tail, mines also missing but i think of doing like a wing or something. also cool thing how you got the bender i dont which sucks lol. cool vid.

Get a crotch rocket engine to put in it cbr1000rr or Hayabusa just look for one it's been totaled out they're everywhere and you can usually get one between 800 and $1,200. Not to mention it's a hell of an upgrade lighter turns more RPMs and can be way faster. Boost a Hayabusa motor!!

Faster to make, stronger, and looks better. You can get cheap benders online and it's absolutely worth it.

I know this videos pretty old but im in the proccess of rebulding a sandrail with an identical engine to yours and was curious what size nuts and bolts you used to fasten the engine to the transmission. I've been looking all over ans just havent had any luck and cant really do anything else till i can order those nuts and bolts

The front is a beam style. So it’s not independent. A arm suspensions are independent. That beam style is rugged.

@@TurnNBurn Thanks for answering Mudd. Having had a few sedan bugs I know that isn't enough because I've tried it. Needs the engine tin in the engine compartment to separate the bottom of the engine from the top. But I must be missing something because the rails seem to get by without it. Maybe because it just hangs out there in the breeze instead of being in a closed compartment? Can rails make do without the fan shroud ?

The buggy is cool.But the motor is trash.U could have ported heads with big valves.Forged crank.chevy rods forged pistons.Big oil cooler and oil filter and put a drawthrough turbo.Then u do wheelies

If i were you i would replace the motor with an 1835 vw motor and possibly turn it into a mid engine. And i would be careful with the turning brakes. If you dont know what your doing you can blow the spider gears in your differential. Just saying
