I quit drinking 40 years ago, but still think that is where this method of construction originated? Thanks to generous people who continue to educate us using KZbin. A very professional presentation by Chud of the nuts and bolts of the build in sharp contrast to 90% of the METUBE videos of beards babbling bobble heads. Our guess is 18mph but you might get a lot more out of it with a prop matched to the load and rpm of the motor?

@@chud327 I did a little more homework and find the mower motor torque is at 2500rpm and max'd out at 4000rpm. The bottom-end and prop are chosen to be most efficient on a skiff at 5500rpm and max'd out at 6000rpm That would lead me to believe you could replace the propeller with one of 2-3" of greater pitch. Sometimes the prop off a 40 will fit on a 25hp leg?

@@chud327 Skoolie and buy a front-end smashed newer RV of same make? Take the parts you need and sell enough to pay for the conversion. I paid $3000 delivered for the last RV wreck, took many good parts including set of 6 Alcoa Wheels with good tires, air ride suspension, sway bars, bumpers and tanks. It took over 3 years to sell the parts, but grossed an insane $12,000 in parts sales.

I know this is an older video but as an alternative to a love joy connector. On my build the outside diameter of the boat crank that I cut off was 1 inch and so was the mower motor output. Went online and ordered a keyed 1 inch shaft couple. On the side with the chopped off crank I drilled and taped it for a set screw and use a drill to put a little divot in the crank piece. Once it’s clamped together the new motor slips off the driveshaft like the stock motor and you don’t have to fuss with bushings

I went to school at University of South Florida for chemical engineering and now after getting run over on my 1957 Harley Panhead I decided to start a small engine repair/restoration/rebuild biz. We are specializing in engine drive welders and generators along with any landscape equipment including tractors and maybe jet skis. I used to live on Siesta key but sold my place when I came up to help out with my mom who had M.S. I definitely want to catch up sometime when I ride back down when I get my bobber and my best friend's bobber done. I'd love to bring the mud mowers or three wheelers with us.
