I just recently bought the Starfield version of this controller. My intent was to use it via Blu-tooth. It worked ok but wasn't ideal. I also bought the Starfield version of the X-Box wireless headphones. The only way I could get the head phones to work was with a USB cable. They wouldn't connect via Blu-tooth at all. My next purchase was the wireless controller adapter. The game controller paired with no trouble. For the life of me I couldn't get the headphones to even show up in the device list to pair up. I was very frustrated then I noticed something. The wireless control adapter was displayed at the bottom of the device list. Once it paired, everything clicked. It's all working perfectly now. If I use the head phones, the switch to the out put device automatically, When turned off, the sound defaults back to my standard output. All I need now is for Starfield to release. Thanks for this video. I didn't know about the Steam settings. That was a big help. In nearly 45 years of gaming, this is my first controller/head phone combo. I've always used the KB/M in the past.

Yo so sorry for the late reply, MovieMaker. Okay so what I found was that if the xbox controller is wired up then you will most definitely get sound if you plug it directly into the controller. But if you want bluetooth audio then you have to use the adapter. Let me know if you have any other questions

Hey WithOut, if you use the Wireless Adapter then you just have to plug the headphones into the controller or if you have the controller wired up directly to the pc then you can use the headphones directly in the controller as well. Let me know if that works for you!

Thats a little tricky and you're the second person to ask that question so I might make a video about it but long story short if you can really only use the controller for audio through the wired connection. You can also use it through the wireless adapter

Hey actually I found something that worked that I have not seen you mention in your videos. This is what solved my problem and MAYBE it may help someone else. For SKYRIM ELDERS SCROLLS go the the menu inside the game, the menu you can access while playing the game where you see your Quests, General Settings and SYSTEM. Select SYSTEM and now see your options like 'quicksave'. Scroll down and select 'settings', 'game play'. Here you see a list of options and you will see CONTROLLER. For me this was EMPTY and that's why no matter what I did my controller did not work. When I highlighered/selected this box BOOM, I was GOLDEN! In general I guess that for me this means that, sure do everything the experts like Chukevelli advises and then within you game ALSO make sure that the controller option IS selected. Good Luck.

Yes the adapter works with windows 11 but I don't know if the adapter works with the xbox one fat controller. It should be able to though but I guess you may have to experiment if you can. Sorry N, I wish I could've been more help, have a great day, let me know how it goes

Hey Sanket, sorry about the late reply, my internet was out. The app is called Screenrec, its pretty cool and very useful. Its the only software I use for screenshots but for screen recording I still use OBS

got a wireless controller and my pc doesnt have bluetooth tried to connect it via usb-c but nothing is showing on the xbox accesories. might be the cable but it sucks because 1 i dont have enough gas 2. what if i buy the cable and still gives me problems. idk but this sucks man

Can u please help me i just bought a xbox series s and its wireless directly from gamestop i tried to add it to my computer and it didnt work it didnt have the bluetooth turn devices on and off also can u do a tutorial to add bluetooth on and off drivers and how to fix ur xbox series s wireless controller if its not connecting?

Hey Hanns, sorry about the late reply I've had internet issues. I have never tried these techniques on windows 11 but I'm sure they all work with windows 11. They may end up being a little buggy though because I have heard that Microsoft is still working on Windows 11 so that might play a role but everything should work with Windows 11 but I can't say for sure because I've never used it. I have this issue that my Xbox Series X|S Controller is being detected as Xbox One Controller :( Even in the Xbox Accesories app. Is there a way to fix it?
