We found some broken items in the warehouse, and when we looked at the security footage to see what happened, we found this video of Chumlee.

I have never seen Chumlee run so fast! I bet there was something very fragile and valuable in that box, too. Maybe it was the $15,000 cello that he broke? I think they don't fire him because they have such a big soft spot for him (even the Old Man). And they should - I think he's really sweet and loyal and funny. And he knows a hell of a lot about things like kicks and vintage games that are often pawned. I bet he makes them a lot of money.

All these Chumlee excerpts as well as the experts appearances are scripted too. It just cost less for them than to hire actors. Antiques road show is on PBS for a reason. A very limited audience. This show is similar but with a flair All of the fake scripted parts are for entertainment value. Lets see. Box just happens to be right on top of the cart. Chumley starts swinging the sword right in the vicinity of the box. He works there, so he must know there are security cameras in the warehouse. He proceeds to knock the box off the cart. He runs away, in order to avoid prosecution. All very convenient, would we all not agree? Is Pawn Stars staged, full of shit, and completely ridiculous? I think we all agree.

I work in TV production -- everything in a reality show is staged to some degree. Not entirely, but it's always constructed to make for good television. Conflicts are exaggerated, words are put into people's mouths, time is played with... you think someone walks into a store, sees a camera pointed at them, and doesn't question it? Introductions are completely staged -- and reshot several times.

The interesting part is that on the show we all watched him break the "bowling game", now this plus the Chum Signature. If you have money to keep throwing away on what Chum Breaks, how about you give some away to everyone else in the world. Sorry, Chum seems like a nice guy, but if he worked for me I would have fired him by now. The only thing he seems to know backward and forward is shoes and video games. Sorry Chum!

Chum Lee has to be putting on an act. I refuse to believe he's as foolish as he appears on the show. Or else the show simply only cuts to show the very worst moments. He's not REALLY like this ALL the time...Is he? Does he not realize how fortunate he is to have that job? How many people would kill for his job? I'm not trying to condescend too much but maybe someone should let him know how fortunate he really is.

That would be killing the proverbial golden goose. Chumlee being fired wouldn't kill Pawn Stars, but the ratings would drop a bit. The History Channel, looking out for their own interest, probably told Gold and Silver to forget about it and paid them for the broken merchandise.

Reality tv is, to some extent, more difficult than scripted programming. Why? Because reality is BORING. Reality has to be "massaged" into being interesting. The people on Pawn Stars are real, their feelings are real (mostly), and the stuff people sell is real. But it's kind of beaten into shape.

I enjoy the show for all the history, the experts and some of the fun everyone has but this event was so staged and fake! Really starting to make me loose interest in the show if they continue these stunts. There is already too much staged but this was way overboard.
