I thought you had to do it while neutrally buoyant in column without touching the bottom

So calm and relax. I always get nervous with my mask off.

this is an incomplete equipment exchange exercise and does not meet PADI standards.divers must not cover the purge button and must continue sharing air until they reach shallow water.
@ThePlexman3 жыл бұрын
@Angelo Venetantis not quite sure I follow your reasoning they are performing and underwater equipment exchange while buddy breathing as required for the dive master course so your comment about it not being proper training is false
@ThePlexman3 жыл бұрын
@Angelo Venetantis as you are not a diver and have no idea about the training how can you agree 100% with regards to timeframe I found this video yesterday while searching for this I may have found it in 10 years time abs still commented you seem to have an issue with everything

@Angelo Venetantis you’re just a troll

@Angelo Venetantis I give it up you just like to add pointless comments and truly are the definition of an internet troll you seem to have a problem with anyone commenting on a video if it's more than 0 secs since it was posted and you have no understanding of scuba in order to be able to comment intelligently on what you're seeing
@ThePlexman3 жыл бұрын
@Angelo Venetantis yeah whatever, it's the fact you keep replying with nonsense replies that as non diver you have no concept of what is being shown and yes swapping kit underwater could be dangerous the whole point of the exercise is to train dive master trainees how to remain calm and composed underwater while be task loaded, the whole course like all others is structured to develop those divers to take their first step on the ladder of being a professional, if you want to learn how to dive and do it safely then go find your local dive shop and sign but otherwise you have no understanding or basis for any of your comments

Got to love how the kit that they are sharing air from has an air leak at the first stage.

Not that big of a deal- they are tiny bubbles.
@DiverPilot3 жыл бұрын
No, it isn't a big deal: 1) they are in confined water 2) they aren't deep 3) their consumption rate is really low as you can tell since they are calm 4) with a leak of that nature, they could still do 2 hours in the pool doing skills and be perfectly fine. How do I know? I am an OWSI. I teach scuba.

@Angelo Venetantis so is driving a car. So is a lot of things. If people are so scared to do anything, they can always just stay home and drink a bottle of milk like a baby.

@Angelo Venetantis you aren't putting your life at risk if you are properly trained. I encourage you take take an open water scuba class. It is fun and you will learn a lot about dive theory.

@Angelo Venetantis how? Sign up with your local dive shop.

I wonder how long they can hold their breaths for. I feel like I could remain calm and relaxed as long as I don't have breathing problem.

The secret to this exercise is weight belts....

Dont really see the function for this exercise

I was also wondering what as it doesn't seem useful, however, it seems that it is a stress test. It is testing if you can keep your calm underwater under stressful circumstances.
@Richard19763 жыл бұрын
@@zerovisdiver wouldnt be a normal stresstest better? Like getting stuck in fishnet? Lose your divemask at depth and cant retrieve it or other real life situations? Swapping gear makes no sense in my opinion.
@zerovisdiver3 жыл бұрын
@@Richard1976 I agree with you, but I think the agency also want something that is safe and can be repeated by each candidate. My honest opinion is that if I know I am in shallow water and I can do it kneeling (vs in trim on a potentially bottomless part of the ocean), I might not be so stressed as my mind knows that it is a controlled environment. But I think every person is different, I have seen people with way better watermanship skills than me getting anxious by just removing their mask underwater.
@Richard19763 жыл бұрын
@@zerovisdiver im not a fan either of mask off underwater. It takes some time to clear the water out of the mask. Bonus is the salt water in my nose and it feels brand new again 😂😂😂

I think it’s kind of just to be difficult and I’ve been told it’s out of date.
