Just came across your channel, I have ADHD and I just recently learned that I'm an auditory learner, and a little bit visual which is rough because I tend to lose focus from any distinct sound or any movement (for example ticking of a clock, or someone moving up their heel up and down because they have to fidget ) so I lose a lot a focus and I'm in a constant brain battle with myself, do you know anything that can help or possibly make a segment about this? I know it's a stretch but any Information will help!

I completely understand! I’m also very noise sensitive. I find that wearing foam ear plugs helps or playing music or a white noise machine. Also acknowledging and labeling in your mind what you’re seeing and hearing can help. For example, you can have a thought to yourself like, “I can see her tap her foot. I feel myself getting anxious and annoyed.” This can help you process outside things quicker and hopefully it’ll shorten the time that you’re fixated on them. You can also practice activities that require a lot of focus like reading something challenging or trying to solve a crossword puzzle for example. The more you practice focusing for longer and longer periods, the more natural it will become.

My favourite memory technique is mnemonics.

Just heard this term on a video about goal settings and implementing how to achieve this (Andrew Huberman). As someone who has ADHD, I get distracted easily, procrastinate to much etc. So thank you for explaining this and realized that yes, I do use this technique. When I’m going to grocery store and memorize items by where they are in each aisle. When I write my daily list of things I need to get accomplished I chuck. 1) make bed 2) wash dishes 3) laundry and then I’ll do another 3 things, instead of a huge list that becomes overwhelming and then I procrastinate! Thank you so much, your video made in much more clear for me; I’ll be doing more chuncking!! 😀

I use chunking in learning languages. I learn whole sentences saying them aloud. 5 days - 300 repetitions per day at least. Later I don't need to translate. I know the meaning of words straight away like in my native language. And also I remember the meaning longer than by learning separate words. It was a real game changer in my learning process and communication skills in English and other languages.😊

1. Break info into manageable chunks. 2. Identify similarities and patterns. 3. Organise the information. 4. Group the information into manageable units. Thank you!
