I didn't have fluffy yarn so i used cotton yarn to make it, I LOVE IT!!! i have been crocheting for 1.5 years now, and every animal i make looks horrible so i stopped, but I used ypur tutorial and let me tell you, IT IS THE BEST crochet animal i've done:)

This is an amazing tutorial! Just wondering how much of each yarn (length) do i need?

Hi! So you won't need much of the white yarn for the mouth, but depending on what kind of yarn you use for the main body color, you may need almost a full skein. I've made these guys with worsted weight and can make several from one skein, but using a chenille yarn like Premier's Parfait, it takes most of the skein. Let me remake one and give you some yardage estimates!

Okay, just ran the numbers - with a 5mm hook and using chenille yarn, the head, body, and ears took approximately 35 yards of yarn! It took about 25% of the skein to make one alpaca. Hope this helps! 💖
