@doubledutchcrochet Жыл бұрын
If your working with medium weight and fine yarn (size 3 or 4) I like to use a 2.5 or 3mm hook as I find it helps keep your stitches closer together with less holes! Or try using bigger yarn such as size 6 yarn with a 5.5mm hook, you may find that easier !🥰

I bought a (not cheap!) beginner amigurumi kit in January in order to make a gift for my child for Valentine’s Day. I watched all the kit’s videos, along with what felt like every other magic ring tutorial on KZbin. It has been the most frustrating experience, especially since I am accomplished at sewing, embroidery, and knitting, but I found it impossible to create a magic ring until I found your video. The key piece of information you provide is that not only do I need to crochet through the magic circle (which I knew), but that in order for it to work, I have to crochet over the tail as well. Not one other beginner magic ring tutorial that I’ve seen mentions that (and trust me, I’ve watched a ton). Since January, I have been spending 10 - 15 minutes at least four evenings a week, trying to master the magic ring, until I get to a point where I have to put it down to maintain my sanity. Your video is the breakthrough I needed, and I have now spent the last hour crocheting, undoing and re-crocheting a magic ring to cement this skill in my brain. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Im 12 years old and i just started crocheting yesterday. I struggled with the magic ring for quite a bit. Most of the videos i saw didnt show how to make it properly but yours was definitely the best one. Though i still havent made a proper magic ring, i have improved in making it, thanks to you. Im sure if i practice more using your video, I'll make a perfect magic ring! Thank you so much for this video! ❤
