CHUNKY Grungy Forest Fairy Junk Journal Flip Through (Sold, thank you!)

This is a flip through of my latest handmade forest fairy themed journal available in my Etsy shop where more detailed information can be found on her: tinytreasuresj...
She is a big one and turned into a bit of a 'diva production'...lol ( I think because she wanted to be introduced to the world on International Fairy Day before I even knew there was such a thing!)
She is jam packed full of forest fairy magic to get lost in. I apologize in advance for the lighting in my video, it does not really do her justice however it gives a general idea of her makeup. This is the most beautiful fairy journal that I have ever seen! I appreciate that you do not try to put back all the journal cards, etc. while filming. I want to tell you that I have been binge watching fairy journal videos to get some ideas to make my own and this journal is phenomenal!! One of the top 3 on KZbin and this will be my inspiration. So uniquely and beautifully decorated yet with a perfect balance of writing space.That skill is very hard for most makers to master and I have not seen many others who can do that as well as you have. wow.....this is so beautiful. You did an amazing job! But I do have one question. Since it is so thick could you tell me your binding technique that is strong enough to hold all those pages? I have not bound my first junk journal yet because I am intimated but fearful it will not hold my 4 signatures. Even though they only have 8 pagers I still want it to be strong for all the things, lol. Yours looks so tight and strong and I am just curious how it is bound? Thank you for your reply.

Hi Tammy, thank you for your kind feedback...for me the key to tight strong binding when I do these soft covers is being sure the spine is reinforced with something extra between the layers of fabric like a card stock or heavy craft paper and using a good waxed linen thread so it will hold everything together for years...:-). I hope that helps

Hi, Maria again. Still binge watching! You had soooo many ideas I want to try! I make journals, too. But I'm lucky if I get 200-300 views. My journals are boring compared to yours. I mainly do them using bookbinding methods. I don't have any great tips for making videos, but I do edit them. In fact it takes longer to edit sometimes. But that way even if I feel like I'm fumbling or forgetting things I can go back and edit later. So I take 1 time to shoot the video & pretend I'm talking to a friend, 1 on 1. Just keep making the videos. You don't need a fancy setup. Just your authentic self! We will keep watching because your journals are awesome!!

Oh goodness nooooooo your journals are not boring, your style is just different is all!! I just subbed to your channel and I LOVE the vintage style that you do very much! If I had more vintage and antique books and paper I would be making some in your style as well! I appreciate your feedback and if I had the tine to sit down and learn how to edit and voice over videos, I would do it but I just don't have that in me. I am very tech challenged! I am extremely grateful that at least my journals hold the interest for some people that they tolerate my lack of video skills....😄

You said you were looking for constructive criticism. Don't apologize. People are watching your video because they are interested. Don't rush. Nobody is very careful when they rush, and at times it looks like you are harming the papers. Slow down and actually show the tags you threw up above the journal. I couldn't see some of the pages or tags because of you rushing. There is another option rather than sewing to make your tags last. Professional artists use paper cement. You brush it onto both pieces you want to permanently bond, let it dry (that's important) then you put them together. No wrinkles, no globs of glue. They will not ever come apart. It only works if the two pieces are paper. I use this product all the time in my journals. I sew and use some glue too. I also don't use digital kits and create all my own art. Love your creativity.

I've been working on my faerie journal for months! I was a little stuck. It morphed from one journal with 7 signatures, to 2 with half in each. I still have a ways to go before I'm ready to call it finished , but I found that I was repeating alot of the same ideas. Your video has refreshed my creativity and given me new inspiration! I have to use my phone to record which is almost as old as i am...lol...and it is probably the reason I am so hesitant and uncomfortable making videos to display my work. (that was something I expressed and clearly you were not able hear me say ) Unfortunately I live alone on a fixed income and currently do not yet have the additional means to purchase a better phone or camera to create more professional videos Just know it is as frustrating for me to make these videos as it is for you to have to endure them in order to see what I have to offer. I do appreciate your patience and effort to plow through it with me despite your frustration and I will continue to try and better the quality somehow. 🙏❤
