I abandoned some of the things he was showing me in my 20’s after this deployment trying to chase after things of youth . He started a work in me though during that deployment and now he is trying to complete it now that I am receptive again . I’m 33 .

You are absolutely CORRECT ‼️ I got misty a few times. Kirk's transparency was refreshing because it focused on NOBODY IS PERFECT!! He exposed how the church folk pushed that narrative you can't be in ministry unless you're married; then they marry someone quickly, and the church frowns when that same couple gets a divorce. Institutionalized Christians like to hit you with that ‘Thou shalt go to church’ verse, Hebrews 10:25. They don’t even read the whole verse in context, they often misquote it, talking about,”Forsake not the assembling of ourselves together….” Then they say,”See, you’re supposed to go to church.” The writer of Hebrews DID NOT have sitting in a church in mind when he wrote this. He’s talking about building relationships with the brethren, looking out for one another and encouraging one another to remain in Messiah and walk upright. A lot of ‘Christians’ won’t even have anything to do with you if you’re a believer who isn’t in the same denomination as them, or if you don’t agree 100% with their pastor’s theology. This mentality is the total opposite of what Hebrews 10:25 teaches us.

It’s so funny because I am really into my personal relationship with Jesus Christ and him alone, but I also have understanding that He is indeed nudging me to go back to church regularly when possible. However, my mom is really into church attendance but her fruits if you will don’t often align with her having a super strong relationship with Christ . Yet attending church is brought up consistently and I think is so interesting . I feel that she has the church attendance, but lacks in relationship depth and I have relationship depth and lack in church attendance . Thank you for the breakdown of the verse 💕

@@Ncognito579 Thanks. And I’m definitely not bashing church attendance. I know there are good Christian communities and good and sincere pastors out there. All I’m saying is that Hebrews 10:25 is not saying,”Thou MUST go to church!” Church service is ritual and ceremonial, and there is definitely a Biblical precedent set for that. However, Messiah says that the proper way to worship Elohim is to worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. The indwelling of His Spirit, then consuming and living out The Truth (His Word). There are definitely churches out there that can aid in that endeavor, but that endeavor is the objective, not just sitting in a church for the sake of sitting in a church because some unlearned person butchered a simple verse. I get what he's saying, but he's simply making excuses for people who don't feel like going and missing the point. I feel like I need to go to church to fellowship with other people and learn. If I can take time all week doing everything else, I can get up on Sunday and attend a church service. I feel like it's needed and I always feel better afterwards, especially if it's been a stressful week. Some people are so focused on other people instead of going for themselves and that's the problem. If you have a relationship with God or working on it, going to church and learning about his word is an important part. You pray when you need something, but don't make an effort to even attend a service. It took me a while, but once I found a good church home, it made all the difference. Stop listening to social media advice or you'll really be lost. Just my thoughts ❤.
