I am looking forward to church security training in Knoxville for our church about 90 minutes away. I appreciate the videos that you have shared. I look forward to comparing them to what I will be listening to over the weekend.

How about small church s with about sixty or so members and only about two thirds show up for services. Do you have any suggestions

Well, you are a soft target and a shooter's dream. The Sutherland Baptist church had about 50 members and well, 1/2 of their congregation is now dead. Anyone with a gun and upset over anyone would love your church. You need to know any one who is new who comes into the church, watch out for backpacks, listen to gossip, know who is there and why.

If you have pews have the congregation lie down and use them as a barrier, form a security team to Scan-Assess-and Respond. Ask retired and or active police officers or federal law enforcement officers to form a security detail. Licensed firearms carriers with law enforcement experience can also be asked to join. ALL should be armed. You never know who may come to your church packing who knows what. Listen to the above video, bookmark it, take notes, watch it 3 more times until you really know it. Be ready. Be alert. ACT!

This is what I do brother I talked to them while training myself to observe and be aware of my surroundings at the same time ! not that you wouldn't do that naturally because you don't want to be rude which I'm sure you're not but you have to understand they need to understand what you're doing and as for myself I train constantly not just at home or at church or anywhere else in the bathroom at the grocery store on my way to the mail box at home because we are social creatures train yourself to be more aware when you're being social and not detract from your area and situational awareness I'm pretty sure you're there already but the gift is how to let them down politely without being rude in a manner that's satisfying to yourself as well as the person you're talking to I know it sounds basic but I've been doing this for many years I've only been doing security for 3 but the training have been doing my whole life I'm not an expert by no means nor do I claim to be but I know a little bit about people and I know you do too ! search yourself and your talents work on your verbal and the awareness will come natural we are capable of handing more than just the immediate situation you do it all the time without knowing it sometimes I know I do !!! Train, train, and train some more !!!! Grace and peace to you from God the Father and son Jesus Christ !!! ✝️✝️✝️

He said people put hands in pockets trying to protect something or conceal it. That is not true in all cases. The one time I had police contact they had to tell me 5 times to stop putting hands in my pocket. I was not hideing anything nor breaking the law. Once they determined that then i was free to go. It is also a nervous responce to want to put hands in pockets.

Don't let ignorant 90s cops give u that idea. We 2019 cops today know it's best just to have the person ( leave) their hands in their pockets.
