Over 75,000 missionaries are serving missions for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Most are young people under the age of 25, serving in nearly 400 missions throughout the world.
Missionaries can be single men between the ages of 18 and 25, single women over the age of 19 or retired couples. Missionaries work with a companion of the same gender during their mission, with the exception of couples, who work with their spouse. Single men serve missions for two years and single women serve missions for 18 months.

I just got called to the Honolulu Hawaii mission. I know that it was inspired by the Lord through His appointed servants. How blessed we are today to have the restored gospel of Jesus Christ back on this earth once more.

When I was a missionary I sometimes didn't know what I could have done to help. It is good that the organization has experience and inspiration to know what to do, and help us to work together and accomplish what I could not do on my own.

Not only did I refuse to serve an LDS mission, I chose to use my money and time by not doing so. I was able to finish college early, and use the $20,000 it would have costed to serve a mission by starting a business that employs others. NONE of the first presidency (Thomas S. Monson, Henry B Eyring, or Dieter Uchtdorf, all THREE military veterans) EVER served a mission. Neither did eight of the twelve quarom of the twelve apostles, choosing military service over missionary service. I have the same rights and priviledges as a return missionary, (temple marriage, recommend, etc) Plus I have the same PRIESTHOOD as a return missionary as well. You DON'T have to serve a mission to be a worthy member of the church at all!

people can not have both ways when the LDS. did not talk about the service they rendered the complaint was made that we did nothing for their fellow man now that they talk about it that is also bad the Savior Jesus Christ sid not act this way perhaps you need to find Him as you behavior is not consistent with His teachings. Hope the best for you.

Mormons are like look, our kids go and sacrifice and serve for 2 years of their lives. What do your kids do for others? Or to serve God? Sounds like you need to find Jesus. Actually he's not lost!

kay jewl, I wonder why the original Apostles (missionaries) of Jesus publicized their acts by writing them down for others to read? Maybe it was so others could know about the good deeds they had done in the name of Christ so that they could also come unto Christ. I'm sure glad they did write them down an publicize their acts or we would know nothing about it today. This video is not much different than that - to help bring others to Christ.
