One of the most realistic Mormon messages I’ve ever seen. As a husband with a wife who has many health issues (not the same but similar situation Kathy lives with) this shares a very different perspective on what it’s like to help someone constantly with even basic things we take for granted. Some days it’s easy. Other days, it’s a test of my patience and faith. It’s made my marriage difficult at times. We also have 4 kids under 8, so often times my days feel like I’ve taken care of everyone else’s needs and emotions and responsibilities at home, but my needs and emotions are never met or addressed. But like it was said, serving my wife has made me realize that I needed healing as well. Because my mind and heart was not in the right place. One of my favourite Mormon messages.

What a great message. I love this video. I've seen many comments saying how wonderful this video is but you all say yes to this and to the words of god yes with your lips, but do you do it? You say yes but do you take action? Saying yes or agreeing won't do the trick. "Action" just go and DO IT! Watching this won't compleat you or what they teach you in this video is has done nothing for you if you don't apply it in action in your life.

You know there is a comment I have heard a lot that may not pertain exactly to this but it does have something to do with service. "The priesthood is the perfect plan of service." And as I think about this it makes me think about all the opportunities I have as an Aaronic priesthood holder. Blessing and administering the sacrament, home teaching, and the one I hold I hold near dear to my heart, sharing the gospel. May we all be willing to serve those around us, because as we know "Serving others serves God." (Mosiah 2:17)

Beautiful & so very touching!!! Came close to tears as the emotions hit while watching it!!! I had 3 cousins, only 1 left alive in this mortal world now, who each had M.S.! It does get to a point when they can't do even the simplest things, like get themselves into bed on their own, & they need help! There are many other circumstances where our sisters or brethren may be in need of help, & we as children of God our Heavenly Father need to remember this & do our best to serve our sisters & brothers! Thank you for posting this video!!!

I had the privilege to work with HOSPICE as a CNA and I enjoyed every moment of helping each person as they gradually passed. I also at my sophomore year in high school help take care of my grandfather while he was passing from cancer and helped with my grandmother because she had had many strokes. I gave up a full year of sports and helped to take care of my grandparents. It was such a privilege to help as in the future I'd learn that HOSPICE had worked with my grandfather. The RN who helped him remembered me when I later applied to HOSPICE 10 years later. She hired me because she saw how I handled my grandparents. Blessings in disguise. =) Service is a wonderful tool to help others as well as ourselves.

I saw this years ago and it was touching because my mom was in a wheelchair and needed to be helped in and out of bed herself and I wasn’t really strong enough to do it myself which really limited what she could do even though she was never left alone. Now it’s been nearly two years since she passed and the thought of being able to try to help lift her again brings me to tears. I can relate to the people who felt it was a burden because it is hard taking care of people, but it’s such a blessing, too, and when the opportunity to serve is gone it’s missed.

I Really love this video. It reminds me of a Hymn that I am very fond of called "Lord, I Would Follow Thee". The whole song is relevant but the first verse is kind of like this-Savior may I learn to love thee/Walk the path that thou hast shown/Pause to help and lift another/Finding strength beyond my own/Savior may I learn to love thee/Lord I would follow thee-I bet that that one guy who offered to do it by himself would have found the strength that was beyond his own in order to do it every night. This song and this video are so in sync with each other that it can't be coincidence. The book of John in the bible as well works well with this. I think this video was well done and meaningful. So to those who made it-I say thank you. And to the spirit that lead me to feel the truth in this-I give you the biggest thank you. (I seriously cannot watch things like this without getting teary. A son that I recommend you find and listen to on LDS.org is called Drop by Drop. I love it and it is very good)

In the months leading to the diagnosis I have matured in ways so unexpected. I am blessed to be at full function, no one could tell that I have this unpredictable chronic disease. It's easy to serve someone if the come to you an ask. You know what you need to do and how to do it. It's hard to serve someone who needs service, but doesn't ask. If we could tap into that kind of service, we could make a huge difference in humanity.

such a beautiful story. it reminds me of the last few years of my parents life. they needed alot of help. it could have been overwhelming especially since i had 3 little ones and a husband to care for at the same time. what made it such a beautiful time and easier time wise was incorporating my parents into our schedule. take your family life together. do all of the obligations of everyday life and do them while together helping your parents. it made it a peaceful, wonderful time doing it this way. i hope this will help someone who finds themself in the same situation.
