We do the same !!! For more than 10-15 years now. It was mainly because kids refused to go to same places every year. We agreed it was stupid to do that. Now we all look forward to that break. All are relaxed n eat what they want n chat n talk aaram se without neighbours n others relatives dropping in whole day without even informing or calling for tea to their places. That was really boring n stressful earlier.

Kaam is not a problem. Meri saas koi kaam nahi na koi kaam kiya usne kabi. Mera sara kaam karti hun. Jharu picha, bartan, kapde, khana. Phir bhi saas taane marti hai. Lakhon rupeesbhi de diye phir bhi tang karti hai. Or sab rishtedaar on ko mere baare mein itna saara jhuth bol rakha hai

Sir ho sakta hai kuch husbands ho jinhein fark nahi parta ki cook khana banaye ya wife lekin zyadatar aadmiyon ki thinking (including many modern men as well) yehi hai ki wife hi cook kare. Meri ek friend hai, usne bht mushkil se ghar me ek cook lagayi, uske ghar me har dusre din kalesh hota hai. Khana aisa banaya vaisa banaya. Khane me koi kami naa dikhe, to is baat pe kalesh ho jaata hai ki khana kadhai se nikalke sahi bartan me nahi daala😂😂 Meri maa ne naukri ke sath sath ghar ka saara kaam kiya hai. Shuru ke kai saal to jhadu poncha bartan bhi. Ab kuch saal pehle maine aur meri behen ne milke ghar me cook rakhi. Usme mere father ki dramon ki wajah se 3 cook change hui. Ab jo finally tiki hai wo itna acha khana banati hai. Uske khane me vaisa taste hai jaisa ghar ki traditional sikhi hui ladies ke hathon me hota hai. Lekin aksar uske khane me bhi nuks nikal dete hain kabhi kabhi. Indian patriarchal men are just too difficult to deal with. Hats off to all these indian women who have taken all these kinds of shit from these good for nothing men. But they didn't deserve it, and they also have set those high expectations from women today - which is impossible now due to change in thinking, education, and also the fact that many of them are working today.
