For anyone who doesn't know, "Yatsugare-kun" is Akutagawa's nickname given to him by Japanese fans. In the Japanese language, there are different ways to address oneself in first person & "yatsugare" is one of them, but is very rare. Akutagawa uses yatsugare, which is supposed to be a humble & modest version of "watashi."

I think it's cute how they compete in the industry, but also have a feel for when a role is more suited to someone else. Mamo-chan does such a great job as Dazai. As much as I love Kishow and Kamiya-san both, I couldn't see either of them in that role.

@@kristin7146 Yeah, no one else is suitable for Dazai than Mamo-chan. Kishow san is REALLY great as Chuuya, I wouldn't want him voicing anyone else~

Idk man but whenever it comes to funny characters my mind instantly jumps to Sugita-san rather than Mamo lol. I sometimes forget there's a literal Jem out there- Miyano Mamoru who can nail handsome + funny characters. Ig our Sugibro is for trol characters lol

Kishou-san is also good at doing soft voices (as seen in UtaPri) but he had to be Chuuya from the start. He's gifted at voicing delinquent-ish characters, including his first popular role (Seiji from Midori Days) Not to mention his 2009 song "Sugar", which is heavily inspired on IRL Chuuya and he mentions the poem "For The Tainted Sorrow" on it. I do recommend listening to this one, it's super upbeat~

i wonder if the casting director has heard of that song before Bones got the proposal. or Asagiri might have heard of it when GRANRODEO released it maybe before he thought of including Chuuya 🤣

@@benjaminnebenjamin6033 It's always a possibility :) Not to mention, Kishou-san said in a interview he was excited to record the Lovecraft fight episodes, since he liked to read the IRL author stories when he was a teenager. He always had a "chuunibyou" side, just like both irl and bsd Chuuya. He just fits way too well, haha. The big difference is that Kishou-san said he prefers cats, unlike bsd Chuuya, who loves dogs with all his heart lol

Although -chan is usually feminine, it's also used as an endearing calling of someone, or it's sometimes just associated with cute, and Mamo-chan fits well with the goofy but well-wishing persona that the man has.

​@@kdjoshi726 Just my observation: It's usually a male superior (like a manager, boss or even teacher) calling a younger or subordinate women/ girl using -kun. I think it's more proper to call a close female working under you with -san or if closer, -kun because -chan is kind of childish and too informal for workplace, especially for a male superior to call a non- blood related female subordinate using -chan. -chan is also used more often among girls or close friends/ family members. Calling a female subordinate using-chan seems to give off an arkward/ flirting/ pervert vibe.
