Darrell M. Blocker is a former American intelligence officer who served for 28 years with the Central Intelligence Agency. He held prominent positions including deputy director of the Counterterrorism Center (CTC), Chief of Africa Division, and Chief of Training at Camp Peary, Virginia, better known as "The Farm". Within the intelligence community, Blocker was known for participating in a number of semi-professional musical ensembles during his postings abroad. He retired in 2018 as the most senior black officer in the CIA's Directorate of Operations. Since 2019 Blocker has been chief operating officer of intelligence and advisory firm MOSAIC, and a contributor for ABC News.
In November 2020, Fox News reported that president-elect Joe Biden had included Blocker among his shortlist of candidates to nominate for Director of the Central Intelligence Agency; in the end, the position went to William Burns.

It is rare to find someone who will accept constructive criticism and make an effort to improve. Bravo to Mr. Blocker!

When my dad went and interviewed for the CIA at Quantico, he said it was weird how fixated the CIA interviewers were on my grandfather’s shoot down and disappearance in Laos during Nam. He said they kept asking him and asking him about it, and he was just like “Dudes, I really don’t know shit about it.”

Im not sure if that's accurate. Jack Ryan was written about in the early 1990s by Tom Clancy. This gentleman here joined the agency in 1990 and wasn't in a position of leadership at this point in his career. Even in those early movies, his boss was African American. The timing doesn't line up.

This episode was somewhat disappointing in that he did not go into great detail. Nigeria alone has so many issues that could be addressed without getting into the specifics of his assignments.

@@Kabulkid2003 ok so you vote for genocide of over 150 million people... Is that official agency policy? I do agree that he candy coated African service to an absurd degree☝️ but I guess he sees it as his duty to put the CIA in the best light when speaking in public, understandable for an honorable fellow🕊

Truly inspiring, your shows help us public completely understand how duty in US Govt agencies and forces, is freshly ongoing forever important. I hope young people benefit listening to your shows, were I young, I'd be dedicating my life to long careers like your guests lived. Team House no frills shows (great on your new digs though) to me, always makes Govt / forces jobs and duty, something real. 21:09. Gold overview. 45:00. Re listening. 46:03 the one instructor...

I would be interested in hearing Mr Blockers honest take on firstly the farm murders in South Africa since 1994 and secondly the rhino poaching in South and southern Africa - both issues are currently ongoing and mostly underplayed or ignored by mainstream media.. cheers

Yeah. Long time now watching TH. How many guests give their harrowing testimonies and attribute it all to God and Jesus ? A few. Coker for at least one. Regarding last week, Jack, I dont give a shit what the CIA thinks of Jesus, not even internet bang bang paparazzi. It funny. But I think maybe they should remember where, and what they came from. I,m dissapoined, be careful what you say, I'm not a haji with a beef. I'm a witness, look it up , Murphy.
