I still think the reason Cain is on the Space Hulk is pretty weak. Space Marine’s need an “objective observer” to confirm that the infestation had been cleared or something. Cain is so out of place with Space Marine’s in terminator armor exploring a Space Hulk of all things. Escorted or not, Cain is in way more danger from the slightest ambush than anything else.

It is a bit of a stretch for the story even for me. But it is within a Cain story as told buy him. Outrageous and over the top but at least 70% truth

That creaking bed sound effect was hilarious. I must say, for someone marching to their supposed death, that's quite a last supper. Though Cain ofc, had the fortune to enjoy more of such experiences after this one. Still though, I'm more of a shipper for that engineseer from Perlia than Lady Mira.

As hilarious as that was... Remember, a roomba as simple as it is to us, is long forgotten magic tech to an Adept of the Mechanicum. They may have cameras and radio-remote control. But how small can they make them to something as small as a roomba? And how close to the concept of Abominable Intelligence is a Roomba? Even if its following programmed tasks, and learns how to avoid bumping into walls by mapping, that alone would scare the HELL out of the Tech Priests because of their religion and what the Men of Iron did in the Dark Age of technology. The problem with the Mechanicus is that the concept of innovation is Heresy. Because chaos can infest new ideas and piggy back on a simple concept as a drone that's being remote-controlled by a human. The mechanicus only trust the tried and true. For example, they tried making a fucking Eva-unit from Evangelion which was the Castigator Titan and it was controlled by AI, and self-aware. Chaos instantly corrupted it, and infested it, then made into a daemon engine and the Grey-Knights had to put it out of its misery later on. The Mechanicum can make wondrous things, But they often forget that if it is even remotely close to any notion of AI, even the most basic primitive concept, it risks animation by daemons.

the "guidance" as described on the CATs is entirely within the scope of completely analogue systems akin to those found on late 19th and early 20th century torpedoes. In fact the system described is far simpler than many of the mechanical computers of the past. It never maps anything and never learns to not bump into anything it is simply "bump, depress spring loaded pressure switch, which trips the reverse leaver, reverse is set to turn at a rate that ten degrees is reached by the time a cam trips the leaver back to forward. Bump, repeat, ad nauseum. The "guidance" system doesn't even need power, only the propulsion, cameras and radio to transmit the camera feed (that could also have been used to make the thing remote controlled just as easily)

@Carl Borg then I am mistaken and apologize for my hasty retort above. We need a video describing the nature of CATs in Space Hulk.

There are a couple of AoS Gotrek Short stories that still have no audio version: The Neverspike by Darius Hinks Svardheim by Darius Hinks The Dead Hours by David Guymer Moreover there are 3 AoS short stories that I find intriguing: Strong Bones by Michael L. Fletcher about the infamous Gothizzar Havester Fangs of the Rustwood by Evan Dicken about insects in AoS. Buyer Beware by Guy Haley about probably the best written faction in AoS: Kharadron Overlords. It would be great if you could narrate one of them Fist of Dorn!
