I have been subscribed to you for a couple years. I was at Leesburg Bikefest this weekend and I heard a motorcycle go by that sounded better than any audio system I've ever heard on a motorcycle. Crystal Clear four blocks away and perfect Bass. He was advertising for his installing booth. Cicada audio was what they were installing and I will one day also. Seriously, this was the best sounding motorcycle system I have ever heard and I've heard quite a few. It was perfection!

This is an awesome channel. This is by far the best site to get "information" on products, not hype but real world stuff. Keep up the good work the site is very informative and I really like the pros and cons about different products and also taking a realistic approach to what is needed versus what is wanted. There are laws of diminishing returns on all products and with motorcycle speakers the best bang for the buck is what is really needed given that we'll be listening at highway speeds with lots of wind noise so the speaker may have some nice nuances but can you really pick them up with a helmet on your head and wind in your face

I have the soundstream reserve HDHU9813 head unit with a arc audio moto720 amplifier and I’m not running a DSP but I have a 13 band EQ in my head unit but the instructions for these speakers say to use the 4ohm resistors if you’re NOT using a DSP or EQ to make the horn tweeters not so bright. Does my head units 13 band EQ count as “using a EQ?” Or would it be best for me to install the 4ohm resistors anyway? Quick question. On their website it says "500WRMS/1000 MAX Power Handling- PAIR". Does that mean each speaker is 50pW RMS or that the combined 2 speakers is 500WRMS and each speaker on its own is 250W RMS? Also, i really dig the sound and clarity of this speaker. If my system im putting on my bike is going to be a 2 speaker, 1 amp system, will these speakers be able to cover full enough range that the average person wont notice any range missing? Or if im going to run a 2 speaker system should I not go with a Horn speaker?

Hey Carlos, would you run 2 Cicadas 6.5 on an Arc Audio Moto720? It's a 2 speaker bike (BMW). currently using said Amp with 2 Arc CX6 speakers.
@extremeaudioinc2 жыл бұрын
Kenny. If you're running the Fullcomp pods, the fronts would most likely be ok. If you run the CH65.4's you could bridge the Moto720.4 at 360 x 2. Assuming you're running the CX6's off just two channels, it will certainly gain a ton in overall output.

How about these compared to the euphoria and beyma ?
@thomasr.1bad21ultra93 жыл бұрын
I can only speak for what I have watched in the reviews, apparently NOTHING touches Euphoria or Beyma. There is great review posted and since these are "Diamond" like, I'd imagine the same applies. For another $250, save your pennies and buy the Beyma if you want top notch speakers but costly. Carlos also reviewed the Diamond Audio in the same video and put those in the same higher end category as the Beyma and Euphoria and he rated those well. Out of the 3 top tier, Beyma, Diamond and Euphoria the Diamond offer the best price point. If cost is a factor perhaps compare the Diamond to the Cicada as they’re both priced similarly. Just my two pennies.

@@ryanandrews8436 depends on how much power you give them. Like Carlos mentioned don’t compare a 500 dollar speaker pair to a 1000 dollar pair. Don’t get me wrong these Cicadas are super nice and have great sensitivity. The included crossovers with euphoria are cheap though we can agree on that.

Could be a number of things; depending on the year of your HD, if you're stilling running the factory head unit, you my need a radio "flash" to remove the locked preset EQ settings from the factory; also, the settings on your amp may need to be adjusted (high-pass/low-pass, and crossover settings)... Also, the horn tweeter can be overpowering your mid's, which can "tuned-down" by adding the included resistor in-line on the positive input wire.
