The suspension on those green ones at the start was dreadful. You took your life in your hands coming down the stairs when the bus was moving. The old folk were hanging on for dear life. Not good for your hangover on the way to work in the morning 😟

The bombardier bus built In Shannon was in my opinion a pile of shite. The body was welded to the chassis the chassis was welded to the suspension system the coolent, power steering and air brake systems that met under the offside wheel arch were secured with Loctite thread lock , it was fun trying to break the coupling joints in the confined space. Then rebuilding the chassis with extra box steal the bus up to 20 tonnes heavier leaving the depot than when it arrived from thev verious depots around the country

The Cummins L10 engine and Voith transmission used on buses KC2 to KC202 and KD146 also created structural problems for these, since earlier builds used Detroit Diesel 6V71 engines and Allison V730 transmissions.
