What a amazing woman. She was ahead of her time in Africa and perhaps in the world as we can witness many other countries across the world have adopted her way of saving our lands. Hope her spirit will be running down through the blood of the next generations. Our green environment our birthright. Tribute to you Mam!

I am a staunch scholar of International Development Studies (IDS) and Creative Writing here in North America. It is not the first time I am using the Green Belt Movement in my projects to tackle some problems in Environmental Sustainability, Ethics and Development, Participatory Local Development, and several others. I love Professor Wangari Mathaai and the Green Belt Movement dearly, let alone her curiosity to face the wrath of mankind while making sure that the right thing is done for the right people and at the right time. Do not be surprised to find me aboard a British Airways and destine to Nairobi, Kenya to work with the Green Belt Movement one of this fine days...

Many Kenyans forgot this iconic figure, her name should never be forgotten and I think to save Karura Forest from future destruction, we should push the government to name the Karura in her memory and surrendered to UNEP for conservation.
