I have a "fun" time to tune and to play that thing. I bought a fretless high action CBG a few days ago and I am already playing some improvised "Blues". I even figured out how to play Personal Jesus (at least one part)...The problem is that I have to do everything by intuition and ear since most tutorials are about playing low action CBGs...I am so thankful for this stuff

@@psycheopera Cool, thx... the one thing that bothers me is that the fingers on the left hand usually make a tone when touching the fret. Here it mutes the entire string. So does a low action guitar has more notes to play and more possibilities since your fingers can create more different notes? Is there a way to balance those disabilities with a slide? Subbed btw

Hey! Thanks for the sub!❤ You are right. ✨When you fret a note on a fretless CBG with high action, you will produce a muted pizzicato sound. These guitars are designed for slide playing, but skilled players combine both slide techniques and fingered notes to create interesting riffs or layers in their music. When it comes to fretless sliders, labeling them as cigar box "guitars" can be misleading because they are very different from traditional guitars. I like to think of them as their own unique instrument with their own type of playing techniques. When using these instruments, the slide acts like a movable fret. When positioned between the 1st and 7th fret markers, the slide should produce notes that ring out like open strings. When I use my soprano instruments (using strings 3, 2, 1 from a steel set), the slide-ed string rings out all the way down the fingerboard. The key is to apply just enough light pressure on the slide so that your strings ring out like open strings.😘
