Your awesome. Thank you :) One of the first things I was planning to do when I get this circuit running (after New Years) is to put a signal across it and monitor it on an audio analyzer and then alter some of the resistor and capacitor values and watch the effects (as a bit of a physical, visual learning exercise). > I just need a solid starting place to begin at and your current efforts and tests have inspired mt to begin with this circuit. . I have a heap of vera board and proto board packs that I can utilize to avoid the steel project board pins :) Not elegant, but all copper and copper jumpers :P I am aiming to start at about 7kHz, and then ramp up to 19kHz, so I'll be pretty zoned in on the higher frequencies and attempting to cut out the lower base. In the end I will need to implement some tight Band pass or Low high pass filters :)

I can not wait to see the lights in action. I wonder what it would be. I guess melodic and harmonic suggestions could be a bit too abstract for the audience to connect but polyrhythms can be very interesting. Some clever audio to midi converter software for real time interaction so you could play to the lights could be fascinating too.

You read my mind, Peter!✨ I’m not sure if you've had the opportunity to watch my micro opera, "Cyborgs are Dancing," but in that work, I create MIDI-responsive and motion-reactive scenography, which includes lighting and mapped video. I also included audience participation in the lighting and music using a wireless gaming controller that interacted with a synthesizer and my set design.. Here's one of my favorite clips from the workshop: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fHbKlKycidJ-jM0si=aO1R-bAqa6IgAZVJ&t=881 The software that ties everything together is Max. For a long time, it has been my dream to create a permanent immersive performance space for my work and that of my husband, Lawrence. This humble DMX 512 project is just the beginning of the immersive "theater" build.

Looked complex, deep and meaningful, not just a light decoration. Amazing !

Hi Peter! ✨Thank you for checking out the clip! 🤗 The piece is only 20 minutes long; I sent you only a small snippet that highlighted my favorite human-technology interactions. The base of the mapped video is a fixed composition I created using a picture of St. Vitus Cathedral’s last remaining medieval window. But, the audience member with the wireless gaming controller can change the saturation values of the video and that behavior is also accompanied by synth sounds and, sometimes, lighting changes. ✨I’m so glad you enjoyed it. 😄 I want to produce more work along theses lines in the future featuring cbgs. 😁💜🎄

@@psycheopera I am following :P I spoke with my brother in law who is an electronics engineer over the last 2 days. He was suggesting the use of an inductor with the capacitors to create High pass, low pass and band pass filters instead of the resistor. But we didn't get into detail. Stay with your current path and I will do some more research and try a few different methods in the new year. I will start with this base voltage amp (preamp) circuit as a base though :) ( Ultimately down the road I have to narrow my preamp, and output amp to a tight 18kHz range) but I will start at about 7k to begin with.) Heading to your link....

Hi. Thank you for the video. This type of video/feedback is exactly what I am in need of. This circuit is on my investigate further list and you have covered it right here :) . I am comfortable with electronic circuits, but I am my no means an electronic guru, and even less skills when it comes to creating audio signal processing circuits lol > I am going a little outside of the box here as I am aiming at a high frequency disc microphone at 18 kHz. I'll start at about 7kHz until I can confirm my circuits are functional using typical PC based audio analyzers. (It's for audio based data transmission tests, so I have to try and keep impedance mismatches and signal noise ratios low if I can.) > My question, from your experience, tuning the resistors and capacitors toward a higher frequency response. Which resistor and or capacitor variations have you tried (If any)? The same as above, which components (higher/lower) do you think would lean toward a higher frequency. (I am also aiming at running this at 5V rather than 9, but I think it should still work with my final output voltage just being a little lower.) > 5:17 WHAT! They made proto boards with steel? why would they do that. Now I am scared about mine, even though I got them from a reputable supplier... Me gets my magnet out to see if it sticks to my bread boards. (I checked with a rare earth magnet an not sticking. I just got caught with steel jumper leads a few weeks back :/ ) > 13:55 This is where I need to aim for higher frequency rather than low base. I believe this is a voltage vs current thing with regard to preamps. Unlike a speaker amp that needs current (Watts) a preamp is only looking for voltage increase. P.S. Just note that hum may be that impedance mismatch coming through. From the article you link to. > 14:56 That spectrum analyzer says that I can likely get a clean enough signal for my needs :P > Thank you very much. You went into a lot of detail, and I liked that you gave some tests of it at the end :)

Hi! ✨ Thank you for checking out my piezo preamp video and for your detailed questions. I’m not an engineer, so I can only offer feedback based on my tinkering. 😊 This preamp suppresses high frequencies due to the electrolytic capacitors. You’ll need to install bypass capacitors to access those higher frequencies. I plan to add small-value film caps in parallel with my electrolytic caps to improve the frequency balance of my preamp. I’m not sure what values would work best for your application, but that’s where I would start my research. 😁 Yes, most inexpensive solderless breadboards have steel contacts, which are not suitable for audio applications. Some companies make solderless breadboards specifically designed for audio, but they can be quite expensive. When I need to test something, I just use copper tape on boards or recycled copper wire to work things out. This method is much cheaper, but if you're short on time, you can purchase a solderless breadboard with copper or brass contacts. I noticed that you watched the video where I mention fixing the hum issue. It was due to a continuity problem with the copper tape I used for the project. My upgraded board will be made of sturdier materials. 😁 In a later video, I lined my preamp's enclosure with copper tape and grounded it to the circuit to protect it from EMI. You can check out that video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hZCoqa2an9WWY5Ysi=oDZVrweoBEpPsxVH. Thanks again for your interest in this video and the project it features. I wish you the best with your project. Let me know how the high-frequency microphone turns out! 🔥

@@psycheopera I'm not an engineer either. Computer programmer IT. . "You’ll need to install bypass capacitors to access those higher frequencies." Thank you for the heads up. It was a question on my mind. . With regards to your EMI and RFI noise, my brother in law said you will need to place a filter between the Faraday cage and the common earth as some of that signal noise can feed back into the circuit from the actual earth shield. The small signal from the antenna like cage can change the DC ground off zero a little and effect the AC amplification side. So Look into filtering your shield from the common ground :)

What is shocking to me is how big companies like epidemic and sony can claim copyrights even on your original material and it seems there isn't any mechanism to protect the creators against those bullies. I follow the Chord of Orion channel here and he was the latest victim of both companies. Not only did he lose money but it was also very frustrating and humiliating experience.
@psycheopera21 күн бұрын
It’s interesting that you brought that up, Peter. 🔥 Just two days ago, a random company copyright claimed one of my videos although I used royalty free music I sourced from Adobe Express. I did some research and found out this company is doing that to a lot of creators on KZbin- claiming royalty free music or music licensed from sound libraries. Luckily, I was able to get the claim overturned, but this isn’t the first time this happened to me on this platform. There are thieves that place content ids on royalty free music or content in the public domain and they use YTs handsoff copyright enforcement system to steal creators monetization. YT recently sent us a survey asking for suggestions and I mentioned this huge problem. Anyway, this is why my mailing list is so important. If the problem gets any worse, then serious creators like myself need to look at other platforms. But I’m hoping YT will address this and makes moves to fix this problem in 2025. Thanks for your thoughts, Peter. 💕
@peterpeper483721 күн бұрын
@@psycheopera In the other channel I mentioned, Chords of Orion, after the creator exposed epidemic and made a big deal, finally had epidemic coming to his channel and posting a hypocritical apology. The only thing they fear and the only thing that can work is exposure. What they do is illegal, but they are protected by their size. We need to expose them and share with as many people as possible their illegal actions to force them to stop. Maybe if many people join together to share the legal costs they could take legal action against them and the platform here
@psycheopera21 күн бұрын
I agree, Peter. ✨The fault also lies with YT for not reprimanding or taking corrective actions against entities that abuse their copyright claim system. I’ve signed a petition and sent YT feedback through their survey, but I don’t think they have an incentive to act against these thieves. Furthermore, creators, such as myself that produce videos, but also work outside of KZbin, do not have the time or funds to organize such a campaign. For people like me, the most practical way to deal with this is to dispute every faulty claim, keep publicly hounding KZbin about this issue, and build up a mailing list in the event that we have to change platforms. I appreciate you bringing this topic up, Peter. ✨ My policy is to always stay positive on my channel… I don’t like to burden my audience with my problems, but, I appreciate your concern for your favorite creators and for helping us voice the issue. 🙏🔥
