In the early 80s my mom had one of these, Grew up with the sound AND the heat in the back seat. Hers was probably newer i remember more plastic-ish dashboard in it.. Awesome simple cars tho. Thanks for the ride man!

When driving our bright yellow beetle in our small town. School buses erupt into slug bug frenzy. Dads slug their children as they walk down the street. And we get amazing waves from other beetles on the street.

Thanks for bringing back memories. Glad I wasn't the only cigar smoking '66 Volkswagen driver. I commuted in a red '66 in my late teens, but later bought and restored a '55 with a BIG sunroof. Consider this; a 1955 Volkswagen with a 1965 engine and a 1972 transmission. At least the big sunroof could be part-opened to let the cigar smoke roll out!

@@rebeledvid awesome, my next beetle will be the big ragtop you had. Ive tried to build a new chassis twice now but had to sell both times due to job reasons. Third time is a charm!

@@michaelbogdanowicz5059 yup mine does too, although I installed a 1500 last winter. It actually had a 1200 when I bought it for some reason.
